Robust Storage with a Few Caveats
I've been using the HGST WD Ultrastar DC HC530 14TB Data Center HDD (Renewed) for a few months now, and here's my honest take on it. Pros: Massive Storage: With 14TB of space, this drive can handle an impressive amount of data. Whether you're running a data center or just need a ton of personal storage, this HDD has got you covered. Performance: The 6Gb/s SATA interface provides solid data transfer speeds. I've noticed that large file transfers and backups are relatively quick, which is crucial for my needs. Reliability: Despite being a renewed product, it has been running smoothly without any hiccups. The HGST brand has a good reputation for durability and reliability, and this drive lives up to that standard. Cons: Noise Level: This HDD is a bit noisier than I'd like. During heavy read/write operations, there's a noticeable hum. It's not a deal-breaker, but if you're sensitive to noise, it might be something to consider. Heat Generation: It does run a bit warm. I've had to ensure proper ventilation in my setup to avoid overheating issues. Investing in a good cooling system might be a good idea if you plan to use this drive extensively. Renewed Product: While mine has been working fine, there's always a bit of a gamble with renewed products. Make sure to check the seller's return policy just in case. Overall, the HGST WD Ultrastar DC HC530 14TB HDD offers excellent value for its storage capacity and performance. It's especially great if you're on a budget and need a high-capacity solution. Just keep in mind the potential for noise and heat, and you should be good to go!

Great addition to my home server!
I checked these after reciept and found no errors on the drives. Having 14TB added to my home server has been great. Now I can run my PC backups to the server and not worry about space issues. Performance is great through SATA. Installation was the norm for a Hard Drive, just a few screws and two plugs.

High power on hours, low power cycle count
Just picked up two of these from Server Parts Deals, and would like to give the drives 4.5 stars, but since I can't I'll round it up to 5. Only reason, as of now, that I would knock off a half a star would be because the two I received had over 28 thousand power on hours. But I bought renewed, so what did I expect, right? At least that tells me that these drives ran a long time with no issues. Crystal Disk Info also showed relatively low Power Cycle Counts of less than 20 each and no bad sectors. Price was good at the time, so when the time comes for me to pick up a few more, I wouldn't hesitate.

These drives are sold as renewed but no way they are.
It not only doesn't work but I don't believe it has been renewed at all. It still shows 28,000 hours. When you diagnose the drive it should show '0' hours but my "renewed" hdd shows over 28,000 hours. Amazon tells you that you will have to speak directly with the supplier but Amazon is unable to tell you how to contact the supplier. It is also difficult to arrange to send the drives back and get a replacement. I am having a hard time trying to fill out all the paperwork.

Does not have middle mounting hole (only 2 on each side vs the normal 3)
Drive was packaged very well, multiple layers of bubble wrap, and placed in a sealed static bag. It also works great, is quiet and from operational perspective, no issues whatsoever and I'm quite happy with it in my Windows PC hosting a Plex server. But what was annoying is it only has 2 mounting holes on either side, so if you try to use a 5 1/4 to 3 1/2 adapter, or if your mounting rails use the two holes that are normally closer together, you may have to get a different mounting adapter to fit into your chassis. Every other SATA drive I've purchased has 3 holes on either side, giving multiple options to mount in a variety of installations. For now mine is laying on top of another drive until I can get a mounting rail that uses the outermost mounting holes. The image of the drive shows this, but it was not obvious to me when purchasing, nor would I have even thought about it until cracking open my computer case to drop it in.

Great valve
Dollar for dollar, this is a great NAS drive. I used it to consolidate several 4tb drives so I could repurpose them. Now im looking at buying a couple more for a raid configuration.

No problems and I keep buying more
I do video editing and don't want to pay monthly for 100 TB of storage in the "cloud" (after all, if it's in the cloud, you have no control over what they're doing and many people have suffered from data loss as a result!) so I took a chance on these hard drives. I am absolutely blown away by them. The density on these is so high that they almost operate as quick as an SSD when it comes to seeking a file. Copying files to and from these to an SSD is minimal compared to copying from any other brand or type of HDD. The temperature on these is noticeably cooler compared to other drives, they're quiet, and for barely $10 a TB you can't beat 'em. I've bought six so far and haven't had any trouble in the year that I've been using them. Of course, you should always have a backup but given their cost, you can buy two at a time and use one as a backup.

Hecka of a deal.
I have been archiving old Mac computer hard drives, and storing music and other media along with applications and my art. I have most of these items backed up to Cloud drives and other hard drives. But for the price for the Terrabites, this was a deal too good to be passed up. I am able to shuffle files around, organize and sort files. Even sort out duplicates and way old, useless files. Came packed well, bare bones, came with only with drive, that's it, no extra hardware EXCEPT instructions and a cable (and even the tape) to make the drive usable with certain systems. No worries, instructions are clear via text and images. And is as easy as taking a small piece of provided tape, placing it over a few of the pins. Again, a piece of cake. After doing that initialized it for Macs, slipped it into an external enclosure and, I was shuffling bits and bytes all over the place. It is very quiet, pretty. Darn quick, with bunches and bunches of small files, or a many rather large GB files and folders full of hundreds and thousands of smaller files. Sorry not that into running speed tests. Just in my daily usage, happy with the speed. One negative so far is heat. Not smoking hot, but hot, not warm to the touch. Now that is after a few days of sling many, many files, backing up, optimizing, and syncing files and folders. Super happy with the purchase. Great secondary back-up drive.
