SoHo Urban Artist Soft Pastels Set of 10 Iridescent Metallic Colors

I love to use a lot of color in my artwork and these pastels do the job. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I bought them for my neighbors who draw on their sidewalk and it lasted through several rainy days.

If you are a pastel artist, you might not often even consider low-priced pastels. In this case, Soho sells colors that none of the well-known artist favorite companies have. I find them useful especially as final highlights in skyscapes and just touches of them added to flowers in landscapes. They have great value for me.

Bought for an artist friend. She reports good quality pastels. The colors in the finished project look amazing and glow amazingly under black light.

I bought this along with pencils from another supplier .this worked and is chalk like pastels not that crayon nonsense. I am happy with it

But they just aren't very good. I have an extensive collection of pastels (block, pencils, and panpastels) because coloring with pastels is meditative for me. When I saw these I was excited to give them a go. But instead of being richly pigmented the are dull and light. They crumble as you color and as you brush away the excess, you also brush away the color you just laid down. It does that on cheap paper as well as expensive pastel paper. There's really not much "metallic" shine at all and as you can see from my swatches, what you get is vastly different than what you expect. Also, if you want to fix an edge you smudged all you have to do is wipe it with your finger because the color simply does not adhere to the paper. Beautiful in the box but lackluster and fragile on paper.

I love these new neon pastels. First of all, I like that they have a paper cover that keeps it from being so messy. The colors are very bright and blend easily.. All the reviews that I saw for these were very positive. They come in a nice secure case and are well protected. Definitely recommend them!

Very blacklight reflective, highly pigmented and blends really well.
