Do the Gund hand puppers have a mouth that opens and shuts?

Yes you can manually open and shut the mouth. It is a little stiff at first. Toddlers would have a hard time doing it. My son is two and he doesn't care. He just loves putting in on his hand. Also If you put your fingers in the arms you can get Elmo to hug your little one or high five.

Does this puppet fit an adult male hand?

Yes it fits an adult male hand well. It's well made and so much fun

Does this Cookie Monster puppet have a hole in his mouth to feed him cookies?

It has a mouth that opens and close but it does not have a hole for cookies to go down

Can you slide fingers into arms to make them move?

Yes, you can and the mouth open and closes. It is just challenging to operate both arms and mouth at the same time.
