My wife and I are trying hard to comply with some dietary restrictions and that means that we need to do more of our own cooking (you can find low-fat, low-cholesterol, low carb, lower sodium, lower potassium and lower protein items in stores, but you generally only get to pick 2... maybe 3). This means that I make our own spaghetti sauce and soups every weekend. The problem is that if you make a giant pot of Cauliflower (or any) soup on Sunday, by Wednesday you are sick and tired of eating that same soup over and over again when there are only 2 people in the house. We are both too busy during the week to cook, so having a supply of healthy, diet-compliant foods handy is very important. These little silicone molds are our solution. I make a large pot of soup every weekend. We keep 1/3 of it for immediate consumption. 2/3rds of the soup goes into the molds and into the freezer. They get popped out the next day, dropped into ziplock bags, labeled, dated and pushed back into the freezer. After a few weeks of this, we've got 2-3 soup options and we aren't eating the same thing over and over again. Feel like a bowl of french onion soup today? Pull out a brick and heat it in the microwave? Feel like spaghetti? 2 servings of fresh and diet-compliant sauce can be pulled out and is ready to go in a few minutes w/ the help of the microwave. I was surprised at how easily the frozen bricks popped out of the molds. There's a sturdy ring of something hard around the top of the molds (so moving hot soup in a flexible tray isn't dangerous) and the lids add some helpful rigidity to the moving process as well. These are perfect for a fabulous quick meal. You can make a very large batch of your favorite or any diet plan, freeze the right portion and stay on your diet. Great when you are too busy/tired/hungry etc, Food pops out of container easily. Got the first set as a gift then purchased more. We call it block soup for dinner. With multiple containers, you can curate many different meals. Highly recommend.

I typically make 2-3 gallons of stock each month, and wasn't keen on paying the high price of the "other" cubes. Since I have been using the silicone cupcake pans to freeze my broth (yeah, 3 gallons in cupcake pans takes a lot of time) - it's time to expand the operation! I bought two sets of these (total of four trays) Frozen my first batch, they've been through the dishwasher twice - they're thicker than my silicone cupcake trays - but they're not thick enough that they don't flex somewhat when filled with liquid. If you're filling these with liquid, you'll want them on a pan, i.e. a cookie sheet, when freezing. If you stack two - the bottom flexes a bit, i.e. it pooches out under the weight of the one above it - and I'm not terribly thrilled about that detail. (Think in terms of when you sit a filled water balloon on a flat surface - how it spreads - these expand a bit under weight - nothing dramatic). I stacked mine - 2 per stack, on 1/4 sheet pans in the freezer. I would NOT stack more than 2. Good value for the $$, they went through the dishwasher w/no issue, and they're a nice bright melon color. The frozen 1cup "bars" were easily removed, and 8 of them fit perfectly in a 1 gallon ziploc freezer bag. :) The lids are awesome - fit tight.

These cubes are the perfect size for a single serving, and I use them for soups, rice, sauces, and more. I love that they’re made of silicone, so they’re non-toxic and safe to use. And once the food is frozen, it’s really easy to pop out the cubes by pushing from the bottom, super convenient for meal prep! I freeze most of my leftovers, so these have been a game-changer. The only thing to note is that strongly scented foods can leave a temporary odor in the silicone. For example, I froze a curry dish and it smelled like curry for a few weeks, even after multiple washes :/ but it eventually went back to normal. I bought two sets of Bangp freezer trays. The picture above shows 8 one-cup portions of my delicious gumbo in a gallon freezer bag. The trays are sturdy, easy to use, stackable, tight covers and wash easily in the dishwasher. Better yet, the final product stores flat in my freezer, no wasted space. I have used these to freeze ice for the cooler, they melt slower. I like cooking once and having meals tucked away for busy nights, these cubes make perfect one portion servings. I’m already thinking ahead to stews, chili, different soups and sauces. There are lots of possibilities. I have other similar devices, but the ease of storing the frozen portions make these a better choice.

I was originally looking at the name brand freezer cubes but they were so costly. These are at a great price point and work wonderfully. They freeze soup or sauce or whatever in great portion sizes. The container is sturdy when filling and easy to transport to freezer with the stiff top and easy to use lid. They are also very easy to pop out your frozen cubes. I would highly recommend, these have really helped to cut back on food waste and to prep for future meals

It's quite sturdy. I was a little scared of flipping it inside out to get the frozen items in fear of tearing the silicon as the corners are quite sharp. The smell does linger inside though. I usually use this for portioning cooked rice, pasta, spaghetti sauce.
