Easy and effective fabric dye
This dye pod is very good and this is at least the fifth time I buy them. It’s so simple to use—just pop it in the washing machine, and the results are vibrant and even. Perfect for reviving old clothes or giving fabric a fresh new look. Highly recommend for hassle-free dyeing! Just remeber to wipe off any water that could be left once done

It works but the dye does stick to washing machine.
Right it works. I went over the grams slightly but my items still came out very black. The dye does get stuck to the inside rim of the washing machine (like a thin inky layer) so beware. I spent an hour scrubbing it all off, did an empty cycle, then a couple of dark cycles then finally braved a 'lights' cycle (added in a colour catcher in case) and I did see one or two black inky splotches on some old towels. This happened again on another cycle and after that no more black in the machine. Probably wouldn't do it again for a long time until I've forgotten how much of a pain it is to clean off.

Great outcome
Worked very well for me. Be aware that it will not dye the seams in case they are not maid of cotton.

Do not use in washing machine
While the color intensity is excellent, I advise against using as instructed, in a washing machine. I followed the instructions 100% and yet my washing machine was a mess afterwards. I had to run 3 additional cleaning cycles and do a lot of manual work with a brush, cloths, vinegar, rinsing with a hose in between, to manage to clean it. Never again!

You gotta try. Turns old fabric into brand new in 2 hrs.
Since it is from Henkel I had high expectations. I used the marine blue dye for my green IKEA dining chair covers which had faded in color over the years. I used three covers (c. 1.5kg) with one pod and hoped for some greenish/ blueish outcome. Though it’s a mixed fabric of cotton/synthetic, the color came out super strong and beautiful. The color is a dark blue with a green shade. It looks fantastic, like new. Better than expected. The whole process is simple. I can only recommend this product. Follow the instructions and you will receive amazing results.

Good but a lot of work.
It works fine but it is too much work and needs a lot of cleaning after you are done. Machine needs to be cleaned properly even after an empty cycles, there was still some colour so I had to wipe everything properly and run another cycle. But after all that work, the result was not absolutely perfect but was quite good.

I bought this 'Espresso Brown' dye with the intention of dying two old cotton throws, each of which was approx 1.2m square, and which had previously been dyed bright orange several years ago. The total dry weight of fabric was about 1.6kg, which is greater than the maximum weight stated for one pod of dye, but all I wanted to do was to tone down the existing colour. I had expected that I might end up with a sort of terracotta shade, but wasn't really too concerned about the end result, so figured that it was worth a punt using a single dye pod. I gave the throws a quick pre-wash to leave them damp and then followed the pack instructions, emptying the contents straight into the machine drum as indicated for larger quantities of fabric, and putting it through two full cotton cycles, with detergent added in the second cycle. The end result is an even coverage, and the shade is a rich 'chocolate' brown, not much lighter than the shade indicated by the manufacturer, which was surprising given the excess weight of fabric I was using. There was no staining left behind in the machine or on the door seals, despite the alarmingly dark colour during the process. All in all the product was easy to use and produced better results than I expected. My only criticism is that the instructions are printed on a long narrow strip of paper in tiny letters less than 1mm high, and are in white on a black background, which makes it very difficult to read. My eyesight is fine for reading most things, but even with reading glasses on I also needed a magnifying glass to read the instructions properly.

it's a good dye for washing machine clothes dye but make sure the volume of items is low, max. 2-3 items in order to do a good job.

I died two canvas Ikea chair covers purple with Ritt dye years ago. They had faded to an ugly grey purple. I wanted to re-dye them but dreaded the pot on stove, add salt, mess. Saw these pods online and wanted to try them. I used one pod per chair cover. I dyed each chair cover separately (in part bc I ordered one pod to try and only ordered another when it worked). I was afraid it wouldn't work because I have a front loader. But when you read the directions, these pods are from the UK and designed for front loaders. It was so easy. Just follow the directions and run an empty cycle after to make sure your washer is clean. Very happy with results.
