Review: They'll all want to play at your house! - I bought this for my husband, for his birthday. I can't believe how much fun he is having with it! The battery life could definitely be better, but that is the only thing I will say that might be seen as negative. It takes wonderful video and it's so easy to use that anyone can become proficient in a very short period of time. This is one of the best gifts I have ever bought. It provides endless amounts of fun, and is sure to make any owner a VERY popular person instantly! Review: Parrot crap! - Control using a Nexus 7 Android tablet is NOT! The 'copter launched and hovered, but had no control other than up and down. It began to slowly drift away on its own, despite the fact that I had taken my hands completely off the controls. It was supposed to hold position, but instead headed over to a nearby tree where is crashed uncermoniously to the ground. Fortunately, no visible damage, but I didn't think twice about returning this to desertcart, especially after reading many online posts and forums from other Android users who experienced similar problems. My $350 purchase was just too much to waste or chance losing on a product that does NOT perform as advertised. Parrot is rapidly gaining a reputation for selling vapor ware, and especially with this particular piece of junk that verifies it for me! Just look at the many sites offering replacement parts for it just after you've crashed it the first time. And the parts aren't cheap! Parrot - Long on promise, VERY short on delivery. Save your money and dreams for something that really works.

Parrot crap!

Returned after one (1) day...
All in all, pretty disappointed with the product. The AR. Drone arrived with all of its promised accessories. After removing the drone from the package and allowing the first of two batteries to charge, I immediately ran into issues with connecting the drone to my phone. It took several calls to their tech support (who picked up on the second ring) to finally correct the issue...temporarily. 4 out of 5 times I went to fly the drone around, once it got further than 15 feet away, it would lose its connection. The problem with this is, that instead of having a built in land feature when the connection is lost, the drone just sits there. So if its 20' in the air, you have to either find a tall ladder, or wait for the battery to die and then hope you catch it. Fortunately, mine lost connection at a height where I could grab it, but had it been a few feet higher, I would have had an issue. Its a fun toy, but using wifi is not the way to go. I'd much rather have a radio controlled drone.

Great product - Terrible seller service
The product itself is a lot of fun (I myself only played with my friend's, read ahead). You need to be experienced to fly it without crashing it (and it is fragile) but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun. The seller experience I had was a different story. The first one I ordered was from Amazon Warehouse Deals, listed as "Used - Like New". The product arrived in a slightly damaged box, but otherwise looked fine. It even still had protective plastic on the hull. After unpacking and assembling the product, however, I discovered that the internal circuitry had been damaged and the product was unflyable, and after closer inspection I discovered some minor cracks in the body of the quadcopter. I returned this one and ordered a second, again from Amazon Warehouse Deals. This one arrived in a severely damaged box and one of the propeller arms was snapped off of the body of the drone. I will be purchasing the next one new so I don't have to deal with this again; they should verify that their products work before listing them as "Like new". TL;DR: Great product, but avoid ordering from Amazon Warehouse Deals unless you plan on making lots of trips to UPS returning defects.

An Excellent (If Somewhat Pricey) Quadcopter
The AR.Drone is an easy to fly remote control drone. The controls are simple enough for my students to pick up in just a few minutes, and was great for discussing the three axes of movement in aviation. It generally fails pretty gracefully, and absorbs a lot of damage and mishandling with little more than a crash and restart. The only part my students have managed to break was the foam inside hull, which has been pieced back glued back together with epoxy. The only major fault I can find with this quadcopter is the limited battery life. Even with two batteries, it's a process of flying, and then waiting for batteries to charge, with each battery averaging about ten minutes of flight time. Get several spare batteries for long days of flying.

This is the latest cool thing on the market (for me)
I have RC boats, planes, helicopters but this takes the cake. Right out of the box I was flying and video taping. I watched youtube and got the inside scoop. I downloaded the app to my Samsung Tablet and Droid Maxx phone and flew the droid with both. This was an exceptional deal because you got an additional battery for $271.00. still expensive but totally exciting. I am not into the technical end, nor am I an enthusiast, I just like to fly RC items. I really like the stabilizers and the automatic hovering. I video taped my home and the neighborhood. I get the flavor of the drones in the war zone.

I'm loving it!
I found the Parrot AR Drone 2.0 very easy to fly! When you are first learning it's great that limits can be set on altitude, speed, and etc. The auto take-off and landing are also great feature. When using an iPad mini as the controller, the screen is somewhat difficult to see in bright sunlight. Due to my inexperience flying a drone, I ordered several spare parts. After about a dozen flights, I haven't used any of those parts. Great little machine!

Does not do as advertised
I should have read the reviews. You have to take the unit apart every time you take off and reset it. It has to manny problems and not been tested in the field. It will not fly in a hangar as they show, the consoles are reversed and it flies on its own. It needs a switch to disconnect battery and better directions.
