Womens Burgundy Velvet Victorian Steampunk Tail Jacket

This jacket is everything I was hoping it would be. Well constructed, nice material – as it should be for the price. Looks great, flattering cut, fits well. Nice color - a little more red than burgundy but nice. The buttons / design in the front is great.Because of some of the other reviews I was worried the medium would be too small but the large was out of stock. I normally wear an 8 (although honestly if I'm ever between sizes it's between medium and large, never small and medium) and the size chart indicated medium would work.I have big shoulders and a small chest and it is a little tight in the shoulders but only a little. If you have a big chest or big shoulders you may consider sizing up but I think the large would've been too big for me. You can cinch the back to fit your waist better if you have a small waist. I'm tall (5'9") with long limbs and the sleeves are lovely: long enough for me but bc of the embellishments they'd look great on someone shorter with average length arms as well.I'm very happy with this purchase.

This jacket is beautiful!There is a fair amount of detail in this jacket that makes it uniquely pretty. The buttons have a pattern on them, the multi-layer lace fabric edging adds a feminine flair to it, the style and cut are flattering, and the lace up detail in the back of this jacket create a very nice look. The burgundy is a very rich color, especially since the outer fabric is velvet.I will be wearing this as my jacket for a pirate costume at a party. I will also use this jacket as a part of my renaissance costume for the renaissance faire later this year. If you are wearing a gothic or victorian attire, this jacket will compliment your outfit nicely, too.By the way, this jacket is NOT cheaply made. The outside fabric is soft velvet. The inside of the jacket is lined. It will last for a great many years of use. It is at a good price for the quality and fabric.Make sure you follow their specific sizing guide. Measure your body for the right fit.I bought the XXLarge size. I normally wear a U.S. size 12-14 (size large) in tops. The inside tag states that it is a U.S. size 14. It fits like a size 14 around the body and I have enough room to wear layers of costume underneath the torso of jacket. What I love about this jacket is that the back has corset-type lacing detail, so I can tighten it or loosen it.The sleeves are a bit slim for a size 14. The sleeves fit like a size 12. The fabric does not stretch at all. Since I sometimes wear a size 12, I do have enough room in the sleeves to wear a single thin long sleeved shirt underneath.The shoulders are a bit narrow, too. Again, fitting more like a size 12 than a size 14.I am 5'8". I have a longer torso. The front of the jacket ends about mid-hip on me, allowing a belt to be seen. The tail of the jacket hits just under my butt.I love this jacket! It is stunning! I am very happy with my purchase of this jacket. I would buy it again.

Well made and beautiful. Has lacing on the back to form fit. I wear 9-10 US and bought a large to fit the "girls" in and there is plenty of room. Good value for the money.

I typically wear a 10 or 12 in tops depending on if it has buttons. measurements: 41-33-41. 160lbThis is a beautiful jacket. If you plan on wearing it inside with out a camisole(you can) or with a blouse it will be on the warm side . I will be reordering in a smaller size. I loved the style, construction and material. I sized up based on some of the reviews and bought the 14. It was way to big. Laced up tight, it looked messy, the shoulders hung off mine by 2 inches and the sleeves completely hid my hands. From the back, across the shoulders was not pretty( a puffy mess). I think you need to take in body shape when ordering. I wear a a 36 ddd( rib cage measurement 35") and am not broad shoulders. I ordered larger to accommodate breast size but, it was not necessary. It felt and looked 2 sizes too big. Can't wait to see it when it fits.

Great coat. Lots of details, the only negative I can think of is that the buttons are plastic. You can't go wrong with this coat, very feminine. My wife got lots of compliments for her steampunk cosplay. High quality and amazing fit. My daughter didn’t want to wear a dress to homecoming so I surprised her with this and black slacks. The tails in the back were perfect. Now she won’t take it off. Much less money than a tuxedo coat with tails and unlike tuxedos, it’s made for a female

This jacket is amazing. Real velvet, ruffles are layers of soft lace, well constructed, fully lined, buttons and fasteners are sturdy. I plan to replace the lace in the back with satin ribbon, as what comes with the coat is a very sturdy and functional woven cotton lace and I plan to use this for a costume.It's made well enough that if this is your style, it could be worn regularly. The burgundy color is exactly as represented in the picture. I am a size 14/16, I bought the 16, and it fits beautifully with room to move and to cinch the laces up in the back.

I might suggest 're-sewing' buttons, d-rings et al before you wear this lovely jacket... I lost 2 rings within 2 days.. and 2 buttons within the first week. Jacket is incredible looking/feeling, and surprisingly warm though, and I am now looking to also get the black one. It split at one shoulder within the first week of wear.. so am not happy/impressed about that, and have to take time out of my day to re-sew things that *should* have been sewn more securly.. but in my opinion, although annoying, worth it.. the jacket is lovely
