10/10 very easy and honestly no harsh pain it’s a quick punch then it goes away. The quality of the ear rings are good love the gold. I don’t know yet about tarnishes because i literally just did 2 in one ear def easy and quick.

The piercing process is incredibly simple and quick, resulting in a short and enjoyable experience. The pain is little, and the piercings are quite pretty. I recently pierced my second lobes with these just two days ago, and they’ve been recovering well so far. The plug was neither too thick nor too thin, which made the process both intimidating and exciting. In the heralding process, I’m also using just rubbing alcohol and Neilmed after piercing spray, and it definitely soothes the discomfort, so I do recommend buying that too if you are going to use this kit.

Wow! This little device is pretty great and saved me a ton of money! We paid well over $120 to get my eldest her second piercing at Studs in downtown Nashville. I refused to pay that much for my second daughter so we bought this on Amazon for $8.99, it arrived the next day and by that evening, ta-da.... my younger daughter has second piercings. Save your money and do it at home with this device!

I really love this product and would buy again, it was very efficient and caused no problems. It was fast and on a pain scale of 0-10 I would rate a 2 no pain after besides when I rub it but nothing crazy. I recommend marking a dot to make application easy but overall this product saved me money $$ and was very easy to use.

This was simple to use. I had been holding off on more ear piercings for 20yrs because I had a terrible experience with my first Claire's lobe piercings. On a whim (and possible midlife crisis!) I looked up self-piercing techniques and these showed up. After waiting a few days and some major anxiety, I worked up the courage and tried it. It was so easy and comfortable (not painless like some people say, but MUCH better than Claire's. A minor, brief pinch and I had zero throbbing or heat). The first two (for my second lobes and 1 helix) went so well I bought more and added the 3rd lobes and another helix. So in a span of two weeks I added 6 new piercings so they heal around the same time. (I don't recommend doing that many at once!) I bought the 3mm silver balls and the 3mm white crystal type. I recommend the silver balls over the other because the crystal ones appear much bigger than the silver. Or just pick one type if going for multiple piercings. Since the front is mostly hidden while assembled, I didn't realize the sizes wouldn't be similar. Aesthetically they look mismatched and weird so I will be happy when they can be changed out. I have recommended these to family and so far I haven't had trouble. I use a piercing aftercare cleaner and alternate with a warm salt water soak. I am not sure what gauge these are. Probably 20 or 18? I'm still waiting for a reply from someone, but it seems standard compared to my other earrings. Oh, out of the 6 I used only one fell apart as described. (And the one I used as a tester. I do recommend one to waste as a tester. You can use the stud at a later time). The second one I tried startled me when the clear case part remained stuck to my ear, but it fell off after a light tap. It did detach properly from the "gun" part. The rest had to be picked apart from the side but didn't hurt. They just looked scary. Follow the advice they offer and do not hesitate when closing them. Push hard but don't shake or tip to the side by accident to ensure the sharp point pierces at the planned location.

Used this a few days ago to do my third lobe piercing. I only had one third piercing done but wanted to do the other so I could be symmetrical. I didn’t want to pay $50 at an actual piercing place for one I could easily do myself, so I ordered this so I could do it myself. Was pretty easy to do and I have no complaints! Tips to use: 1. I recommend trying out one of them not on your ear so you can see how it works. I used the first gun not on anything to see the mechanism and how the gun part detaches. I used the earring from that in my already pierced third hole on the other side. 2. Use a sharpie to mark where you want the piercing so you can make sure it’s even and placed well. 3. SANITIZE EVERYTHING. It says on the package the earrings are sterile but I used the provided alcohol wipes to wipe down the gun and my ear first. 4. PRESS HARD!!!! You need to push really hard to get it through your ear (not because of the product, but because you’re literally stabbing it through a part of your body). I would recommend getting someone to help you if you can as it’s extremely difficult to push a piece of metal through your own ear. I was able to do it alone, but it took me a few minutes (again, not the fault of this product, just a tip for piercing your ears) 5. I would avoid piercing your cartilage with this. Your lobes are fine but I have 12 piercings now and would recommend only doing cartilage at an actual place or with a needle (the gun isn’t good for your cartilage). 6. Clean the piercing daily and make sure to twist the earrings!

Works great for a simple lobe piercing and wasn't very painful. The earring is a little sharp in the back but if you use the earring back to cover it, it's just fine.

Extremely easy to use and efficient. You can’t beat it for the price. The earrings that come with it are a perfect size. We used four second piercings and they look great.

The self piercing kit is working just fine, but: 1. The alcohol wipes provided are almost dry so not usable unfortunately. 2. The studs got blackened within two days I clean the fresh piercing with saline solution only, and now need to be changed which will be quite uncomfortable considering the fact that this is just pierced. I would not order these again. I will rather find ones that are with surgical grade steel instead to make sure they are as safe as possible. If that doesn’t bother you then I would say it is fine for self use. The studs a sharp so it’s almost painless when piercing. I numbed the area with two ice cubes each side before using the kit and it work just fine.
