Weighing in at only 635 grams, the R4 is a lightweight, form-fitting race collar offering protection against neck and collarbone injuries. The R4 uses EVSโs elastic Cross Strap system to secure the collar firmly in place, while the Rapid Lock closure system makes for easy front entry. With its low-profile design, the R4 Race Collar can be worn on the track or trail with minimal distraction and maximum comfort. Review: Great product - This collar works great and is easy to use. I feel more peace of mind when my kiddo is out riding his quad. Fits him great and he doesnโt complain! He says itโs comfortable. Review: Nice collar for karting - Fits nicely, works great for Karting. After reading other reviews i see how it could cause a possible threat to your neck and spine if thrown from a vehicle. But if you are strapped into a kart i dont see any hazard. Good quality and great value.

Really good race collar
Really good race collar. Light and sturdy. More breathable than a bid donut! Easy to put on and take off. Can use it without the belt. My child is still using it after years of using it!

Great for the Price
Reasonably priced and seemingly effective. Bought this for my 9-year old who rides MX tracks regularly. My boy doesn't complain about any discomfort or limitations in movement. The product appears to have an effective design that would reduce the chance of breaking a collar bone or injuring his neck/spine. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because it doesn't hold position well. The strap system it comes with works a bit like a loose bra and the R4 Race Collar can slide up & back over time allowing the front to move closer to the throat. We use this collar with a Fox Chest Protector and I've decided to come up with a more permanent and effective mounting solution. Something like two straps at the front of this collar pulling down and snapping onto the abdominal area of his chest protector would prevent the collar from riding up. Again, my boy doesn't complain but I find myself pulling back down at the front every time he comes in for a rest.

Maybe effective at more than just impacts
Being an older dirt rider still at it, I thought I'd try a little extra protection in case of a nasty get off. I just finished a 3 week off road trip in New Mexico but didn't get to try this device out as I never crashed...and I'm not complaining...LOL! However, something else surfaced that I didn't expect. As riders when we get older, our necks get more sensitive to g-outs and other terrain features that cause our heads to sort of whip and jerk when our bikes hit them that don't result in a crash...just a sharp impact to the wheels and suspension. Usually after 3 weeks of steady riding nearly every day, my neck would naturally be a little sore and stiff from those hits. I'm going to give credit to this neck collar in limiting those kinds of head and neck movements, because my neck felt comfortable with none of usual after effects of riding rough terrain for that long. I could feel my head stop with some limited travel from the collar when I'd hit rough trail features that rock your neck and head. I'm certainly no doctor, but this is just how I'd describe what I noticed. Otherwise I seldom noticed the collar except when I'd look up very high while facing straight ahead. I'd feel the obvious restriction, but if I just tilted my head to look up, I could see just fine. I thought this would be annoying, but I adapted to it quickly and easily. Overall it was comfortable and hardly noticeable. I also wear a full Fox Raptor body armor kit, and the collar did not interfere with it. Again, I didn't test this collar in an actual crash, and maybe that day will come. Riding nearly every day for 3 weeks was a pretty good test for comfort or sorting out issues. I'm pretty pleased with it and will continue to wear it.

FIts great, helped a few times in kart wrecks
I use this for indoor karting. I had a couple of whiplash incidents before getting it. Since using this collar, I haven't had more than a slightly sore neck after some pretty hard hits. The straps can get twisted up a bit. I guess those are the only weakness of it. My friend uses the same model without any straps and he gets along just fine.

seems to do the job
My son hasn't crashed and thus needed to test the integrity of the product. But it seems well made at a price point more affordable than the last kind Amazon offered. Still unclear why the price point is not lower, considering the cost of the youth version. $50-60 would be more reasonable

Suppose it's alright
Comfortable enough but useless without the body harness (included). Just floats around. The bolt that is removed and replaced to adjust the rear angle required Loctite to stay in place, as the mounting nut is cheap plastic and lost thread almost immediately.
