The product stopped functioning properly in less than a year, its a total waste of money

An absolute piece of cake to set up. The quick start guide and the app are all you need and I had the three-node system up and running in about 20 - 30 minutes (even allowing for firmware updates and so on). The only downside is that when you configure your wireless network using the app both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks have the same network name / SSID. What this meant in practical terms was that a lot of my wireless devices would connect to the 2.4 GHz network and this resulted in very poor throughput / performance, especially for streaming media such as Hulu and Netflix. The solution is to use the web interface and to set different network names / SSID for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. Now only my thermostats connect to the slower 2.4 GHz network with everything else connecting to the 5 GHz network and getting the throughput and performance I'd expect. Admittedly it's only been a few days since I installed my Velop system but initial impressions are very positive!

Seeing the low price for the 3-pack (dual/tri-band) combo set made me wonder if something is wrong with the device. Have been using it for over month now, so far it has worked very well, except one day when the connection seemed poor, but that was probably coz of my ISP. The installation was breeze. Was apprehensive how the WiFi smart switches will connect as the default SSID for 2.4G and 5G is same. Thankfully, all the Wifi switches connected flawlessly to the Velop mesh system. One trick to use the same SSID/pwd that was configured with the older router worked well. Some people have commented whether it is possible to have different SSID for 2.4G and 5G networks, thankfully it is possible. However I do not see the need to do that. Everything seems to be working well. Long story short, if you find a good price deal on this mesh router, go ahead and grab it. Have noticed bestbuy and other online outlets selling for much higher.

I bought an initial system of one router and one repeater unit as my "mesh", replacing several routers and repeaters with the usual confusing array of channel numbers and names. The Velop mesh worked very well to improve speed and quality of WiFi connections. I found that in the most distant rooms, the coverage didn't quite reach all areas and so I added a second "satelite". The system practically installs itself so it was easy to do with very clear instructions. The result is I now have perfect coverage and excellent speed (250GBs) WiFi throughout the house and no issues as you move from room to room or floor to floor--the transition is seamless.
