I tried many valerian root capsules, some took forever to work and left groggy next day, some didn't work. This one actually works, within one hour I'm fast asleep. I take prescription sleeping pills but sometimes they don't work, so I alternate. This is a great alternative, love it

Pros/Cons: These are such a good price and you only need to take one of them to get a complete 1,200mg strength serving. They don't have the same smell (taste is fine) that I remember Sundance Valerian Root had and the color is still brownish, but much lighter than they used to be. Not sure why, but so far, I have noticed it takes effect faster than other brands. The calming effect is noticeable in about 30 minutes instead of the usual hour, but it is subtle. I use them for a sleep aid and will have the sense of drowsiness but it's not overwhelming at all. Once I remember to go to bed when that feeling starts it lulls me to sleep. Quality of sleep is good and I can now dream again. No worries about sleeping so heavily that you risk having accidents before getting to the bathroom. Easy to fall back to sleep as long as you get back under the covers while they are still warm! If the alarm clock goes off, you don't struggle to wake up either. Right now I'm still adjusting to the switch from Summer to Winter and I'm never as energetic the shorter the daylight hours become. Even though I'm long retired, I still tend to rise with sunrise and stick to a regular schedule. Overall, I am pleased with it and it's closer to a 4.5 rating for me. I will update my review after I've used it for half a year assuming the seller and Amazon allow me to do that. It's worth a try for sure!

These work great. No bad smell or aftertaste like some other brands note. I’m a Tylenol PM junkie; these are so much better and get me to sleep great with no groggy feeling after. I’m trying to stop with the Tylenol and just use these.
