Nutiva Refined Coconut Oil - Gallon

This oil is good for a neutral flavor rather than a coconut flavor. This is the second time we have purchased this size and although I have not opened this container yet expect it to be the same high quality you receive from Nutiva. Given a 15 ounce container is about $12 at retail the cost savings are significant in buying this large size. Great to cook with, use melted in liquid state coconut oil in baked goods, super in bullet proof coffee or smoothies, superb for body and hair care. I use this large size to refill smaller containers in my home in both the kitchen and bath. If you use glass jars and want it liquified can simply place jar in hot water. Personally I use it daily to remove eye makeup with no ill effects.Can use as Is but do use it to make own body cream blends. Also good for oil pulling or simply rinsing through your mouth Really good for cooking eggs and popping popcorn. This is a pantry staple for us and I always say if I was on a Survivor TV show this would be my one luxury item as it has so many uses. Note this is refined which has a higher smoke point for cooking. I trust the Nutiva brand.

Love the stuff! This is good for cooking and mixed with cocoa butter it’s an awesome skin care product. My wife suffers from very dry and sensitive skin and this is really a good moisturizer retention care regimen. And it’s really a fun application technique! My hands get to “rub it in” as that 70’s favorite use to say. The first shipment got lost or something in shipment so I contacted amazon and they immediately shipped out another one. Which I found to be truly awesome customer service! Anyway I love the stuff, it’s great for multiple use in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. And on top of that it’s a great price!

I am leaving this review as I know some people have had issues with this product so I was a little skeptical about it. After receiving this product I was careful about checking it. Product is solid when cold but will liquefy when heated. It is white when solid and clear when liquid maybe slight yellow. There was no mold or indication product was bad. I did read about some people having problems with that so I basically broke this product up and put it in separate jars for safe keeping as it will last for for maybe a year. It has no taste to it as it is refined. The organic stuff has some taste to it. The container seem pretty good as well and does have a seal on it. I would buy again if needed.

This product has many uses in my home and work. I use it in my massage practice, the texture and absorption are perfect and infuse CBD and essential oils in it. Also easily washes out of my sheets. I also use it to infuse herbs for cooking and topical medicinals. If you didn't think it could get any smoother, try infusing some calendula flowers in it. Will recommend and will buy again.

I bought this for a little more than twice what the grocery store charged me for a tiny jar of coconut oil. It said I could leave it on the countertop at room temperature, but I must caution you- if your room temp is like My apartment, don't do it. My room temp is between 89 and 95F, without windows open and fans (yes an air conditioner is on its way.) So, if you live in Colorado, or other hot or desert-like state, take it out of the fridge let it melt at room temp, then pour it in to a handier container. I poured it in to the jars my lovely expensive grocery store buys came in! It's great for cooking. smoothies, and any hair or skin concoctions you've found recipes for on line. I'm a fan of Kym Douglas' ideas for natural everything from toothpaste to facial scrubs. She's on Home and Family on the Hallmark channel. Coconut Oil is worth the money!

It's a good value for the product and as good as any C-oil I have gotten over the years. I rarely give 5 stars to anything so 4 stars is a good rating from me.

Years of working in health food industry I found this to be the best oil ever. If a recipe calls for oil melt this and use instead of vegetable oil. Has a high heat level, neutral flavor. If room temp is high and it melts just stir. Always take what you need out of container with clean utensils. Can be reused for frying but keep used oil in separate container as not to contaminate original. Just wish Amazon would send notice when it goes on sale.

I have purchased this brand of coconut oil now twice and I am about to order my third. Have had great experience with this seller. My second bucket of oil came during the summer and was melted in the box, I contacted the seller and they refunded my money. I did not ask for a refund but just wanted them to know that UPS did not handle it properly and it spilled out. I still used it and I love this product for baking, frying and beauty treatments, it is a product that I highly recommend.
