APT, UHMW Polyethylene Tape, Resists Abrasion, Impact, for Surface Protection and Friction and Noise Reduction for Lining Sliding Surfaces. (20mm x 4.6m, 10 Mil UHMW)

A bit skeptical but tried this on metal curtain poles which have screeched as the rings slid along them forever. Initially didn't realise the roll comes wrapped in layer of cling film type tape and couldn't see how it would adhere? Anyway peeled off about 10ft of that and got to the paper-backed adhesive UHMW tape. You can see this in the photos. Applied it over the top of the curtain rail (I got the broadest tape but I don't think that was necessary). I haven't even done the smoothest application and it has made such a difference. Screech is gone. Delighted.

Seems to be a high quality product and has stopped the scraping noise of our metal rings on the metal rail. Appears to be strong and likely to last well. It is very sticky so having someone to help hold things when applying is helpful.

High adhesive and very low friction. Was used on a miter bar for my table saw for which it performs very well. My mitre bar slides beatifully smootly in my table saw slot now. Due to its very low friction coefficiency make sure you purchase the required thickness as you cannot build layes with it. Very happy with purchase and at a very reasonable price.

it solved the problem with my drawers

I needed to replace a nylon type slider in a machine I have and as it’s no longer a stick part I had to improvise. This tape is actually better than the original part. Sticks hard to the metal and gives frictionless movement. It is also flexible enough to take the shape of the runner bar it was attaching to. I’ll find plenty of other uses for this I’m sure

I've used this to line the runner on old wooden drawers and it works a treat. I've also tried it on the tops of extendable curtain rails that have joints to keep the curtain rings sliding smoothly and it's slightly less successful at that, but still improved on having nothing

I used this on my car to stop the rubber round the windows from squeaking and crunching against the frame. It worked brilliantly for about 2 weeks and not sure if weather related as in worn away not as effect as got dirtier or just not the highest quality as cheap compared to other same tapes but the squeaks are back in full force ☹ ive got some left so going try it again though and see.

This is so good I would say it glides like a slug on ice perfecy for 99% of items that you dont want any friction to be a problem One thing is that its not cheap.

Purchased this UHMW tape to replace the heatshrink that Spektrum puts on their radio gimbals tension springs. The factory uses heatshrink and lubricant to reduce wear and friction. This is great for fixed wing aircraft, but when flying rotorcraft, the stiction when making extremely small inputs is to high and leads to erratic altitude changes. This UHMW gets rid of the stiction and allows me to run a higher spring tension while still being ultra smooth.

Got this to put under the edges of timber draws to they would run smoothly and it worked perfectly. Got a second roll to finish the whole dresser.
