I’ve made it with moose and deer several times over the past 10 years best breakfast sausage I’ve ever made and I’ve made different brands and they don’t compare. The last time you have to I would recommend it to everybody great product, easy directions 🙂

Robust flavor
Robust flavor, I should have gotten the original flavor, as this one had a touch of BBQ flavor I thought.

Bland if you follow directions
So I made a test batch following the directions. It was actually really bland and you could barely taste the flavor. It says add a half teaspoon if you need more flavor. I added an extra full teaspoon before I could start tasting the breakfast sausage and maple. If you want a flavor profile like a maple breakfast sausage you buy in the store. You would probably have to double the seasoning they recommend. But then that would only season 12 1/2 pounds of meat. The chorizo seasoning I had to do the same thing. I ended up adding a full 2 teaspoons over what was recommended.

We tried this seasoning to make sausages, and everyone who tried the ones of this variety did not like the flavor. Best way we could describe it was that it tasted like menthol. My little kids described them as tasting like toothpaste. That’s not a flavor we look for in our sausages. Won’t be buying again.
