These are industrial grade compared to the pipe cleaners you get at the supermarket, they hold up very well for cleaning firearms. You can get into all the nooks where a patch, q-tip or rag will not go. Very good for gas tubes on M-4 and bolts.

Combine hard bristle pipe cleaners with Everclear and watch the gunk dissolve from ones pipe stem and shank. One or two of these used after smoking remove even the toughest buildup. The three pack comes in handy, because one can never have too many pipe cleaners. A clean pipe smokes and tastes better. A great product that I highly recommend.

I purchased these specifically for cleaning the gas tube on my semi automatics. These work great and the little bristles don't break off even when you bear down on them. Nice stiff bristles make cleaning a snap and it only takes a few to clean a rifle so this pack should last you a while. Stop searching and keep these in your kit.

Works great for cleaning guns. Theses seem to have a stiff plastic thread embedded with the centime wire and fluffy pipe cleaner material. It makes the pipe cleaner a bit "scratchy". Would not recommend these for uses where you're worried about scratching the material you're cleaning, i.e. very soft material. These are fine for metals (won't scratch the finish on blued metal), glass, etc.

Best pipe cleaners around if your looking to clean a pipe. If you want to do drafts this isn't for you as it has stiff hard bristles along the entire length. Don't need them anymore as I quit smoking in 2007 but as a weird gesture I'm reviewing them in 2014 because I'm going through my "amazon to review list" and it's on it.

May be great for cleaning pipes, but pretty abrasive for other useds - very coarse, harsh, and a lot of wire showing,so will scrape up other things you try to clan with them. Bought for cleaning paint and oil ports in equipment and engines, I don't think I will use for that.

The product itself, the pipe cleaners, are of good quality. My problem is not with quality, but rather with quantity. This was to be 3 bundles of 44 each; I received 2 bundles of 39 and 1 of 41 – a 9.8% shortage. At a shortage value of $0.73, this is not worth a battle (something that the vendor was depending on?), but is worth noting. This alone is my reasoning of the low rating. I considered contacting the vendor prior to the rating, but decided not to; they could compensate only those who complained. To get away from this rating depends on the honesty with future customers.

When I ordered the pipe cleaners I thought they were 12 inches long and stiff enough to clean my mother's feeding tube. When the pipe cleaners arrived they were 6 inches. They still were not stiff enough to clean the feeding tube and the cleaner did not go very far in the feeding tube. I could have ordered 6 inch pipe cleaners for much less.
