One review said there was no on/off button, one said there was an on/off button on the bottom. Could someone confirm either way?

Are there rubber stops on the bottom to keep it from sliding around?

Yes. I had put it on a 30 degree surface and it doesn’t move.

How does it charge after the battery dies. Can I charge it with a cable or does it have to use batteries?

When the battery (AAA) dies, you put in a new battery. There is no charging cable involved.

Does the clear button erase everything or is it similar to the backspace button?

It is similar to the backspace button and will only erase one character at a time. When using excel, if returning to edit a cell within the program, the entire cell will erase when you use the clear button or insert any character for that matter, that is how excel works but not the button itself.
