Would this be appropriate for quail? How much protein do the pellets contain?

The pellets contain 16% protein, according to the nutrition information on their website. The pellets are too big for my medium-sized hens (Ameraucana, Welsummer), so they would not be a good choice for quail. Plus, quail need a lot more protein than chickens do. I don't think this pelleted feed is a good choice for quail.

Can this be fed to a flock with both hens and roosters? How high is the calcium?

Honestly, I would recommend giving everyone the grower feed, while providing calcium separately for the hens. Roosters can be seriously harmed by having too much calcium. We found that out when processing one of our roosters, who had eaten some of the oyster shell before realizing he didn't like it and shouldn't eat it. One of his kidneys was twice the size of the other, and was discolored.

Does (scratch and peck feeds organic layer pellets chicken feed with grub protein) have fishmeal or soy in it at all?

they have a list of ingredients on the package it doesn't list that Organic Wheat, Organic Barley, Organic Peas, Organic Flaxseed Meal, Ground Limestone, Organic Sunflower Oil, Black Soldier Fly Larvae Meal, Organic Dehydrated Kelp Meal, Essential Oils, Vitamins, and Minerals. Premium quality from a premium product

This is the best quality commercial chicken feed I ever bought. No soy, no corn. I love the grub protein ‘cause it’s what chickens eat naturally. Appearance - Opening the bag it looks like any other crumble but it holds its shape better and actually smells Good. Is it a good value for money? Hard to say - this is a premium product and I was happy to pay the extra cost.

a supplement to our happy, healthy free range chickens

Happy with this blend for our Orrington and Wyandotte Chickens- have been using with hot water on and off throughout the year- they seem to like it even more when we soften the pellets with water and add pumpkin, yogurt, applesauce, raisins etc. each bag lasts us about 2 weeks for our 11 chickens- we supplement their free range diet with other whole foods, too- this is the main-stay in the feeder to eat as they'd like as free range chickens.

My Girls Love it

New to chicken I started with this brand a few months ago I decided to try feed from my local feed store . The quality of the eggs went down quickly. I was getting soft shell eggs are the shells where very thin and brittle. I switched back to this and my eggs went back to what I was getting good quality eggs . Highly recommend this feed.

great quality food

I love Scratch and Peck food for my chickens. These pellets I find my chickens will eat last. They prefer the scratch and crumbles to the pellets. But, I do love the quality of Scratch and Peck feed.

not sure what happen with chicken feed. my chikens stopeed laying eggs. i was advised to guy this and 2 days later magic happen and they started laying eggs.

Great feed with less waste!

So glad Scratch and Peck made pellets! Our girls love the whole grains, but it was such a mess and fermenting just wasn’t really a feasible option for our set up. The pellets are a perfect solution to make sure our hens get high quality food with minimal mess. It did take a good amount of time to transition them to fully eating eating pellets, but they haven’t looked back since. They look healthy when running around the yard, feathers are bright and shiny, and daily eggs are strong and tasty! Highly recommend!
