Featherland Paradise | The Percher | Portable Training Bird Perch

This thing is awesome for the price. The plastic is on the thin side but if you’re using this for a smaller bird you should be fine. I use it for my green cheek conure which is perfect...it would also work for a cockatiel or similar sized bird. Although, the perch may be too small for a smaller parakeet. The perch part is a slightly slippery yet textured plastic, so I covered it with twine for grip. You could also wrap it with vet-wrap (bandage) for your bird to grip onto as well. It cleans up super easily with a little diluted white vinegar and water. All the parts are detachable and customizable for the perch orientation you want. I love this thing because it allows me to have my bird out and about around the house without much fuss. The catch bowl/tray works to catch seed/poop mess which is a huge plus. Overall worth the small price.

I have been using this for a baby crow I took in who was malnutritioned and starving. It helped alot before he learned to fly. If he pooped backwards it would go past the poop catcher but he poops down so it worked perfect. Rinsed out easily. I wrapped rubber bandage around it for grip. My complaints are that it is very light so when he flies and lands on it it slides off the table and falls on the floor. It also started ripping a little where the T screws in so I try to be gentle with it. The fact is this was by far the cheapest purch I found and it works so I'm happy with it. I was also able to wrap some beads and stuff on it for him to play with. I attached a picture. It looks really weird because his head is bent all the way down playing with a toy and his neck is bald.

We ordered this for a Cockatiel and its perfect. This is a great way to keep things all neat and clean while my 8 year old drags her bird all over the house. She loves sitting her bird on the perch and reading to him. Reading to him has become one of their favorite routines in the evening. They also use this at the piano too. She sits him near her while she plays music for him. He enjoys dancing and swaying along with the melody. I would have preferred that it came with skid material on the bottom since it is just plastic but its easy to add a little sports wrap around the feet or use non-skid pad to sit it on if you intend on using it on slippery surfaces. Our bird loves this perch and we sometimes hide treats inside the hollowed perch side so it gives him something to entertain him while he is on it. Cleans up easy too. Very useful and fun item.

This thing cracked with no effort in putting it together which my three year old could do it's that simple. It spins at the slightest touch in which scares my birds and the bottom falls out as soon as you pick it up. I was so disappointed in this but the idea was there just not well put into action.. The item was as advertised in the description, arrived in the correct time frame and was shipped well and all in tact upon delivery. When the price is right, Amazon is my number one go to for almost everything. The Prime membership is (a lifesaver sometimes even) well worth it and the fact you can keep things in the cart until the price drops makes it a huge shopping tool. Thank you.

The stand is super easy to clean which I love. I wish it was a little bit more heavy duty at the base, I worry it may tip over but so far it's been just fine. The perch itself isn't great because it's plastic, it's textured but still very slippery for my Caique. I highly recommend getting some vet wrap to wrap around the perch, it made it so much easier for my bird to hang on to. Overall, this is a great little perch and I highly recommend it. ** UPDATE ** I've had this perch for about 18 months now. It's used almost daily and it's still in great shape. My Caique is a bit of a jerk and loves slide it off the counter. It hasn't broken or cracked despite falling onto hardwood floors regularly. I'm thrilled the perch has held up so well.

My cockatiel wasn't scared or angry at a lot of things but he didn't want this perch. The bowl part ends with a small gap for your hand to hold the thing and then there is immediately the claw-looking base making it nearly impossible to hold the thing and move it around with a scared bird on it. I am a very small female and had trouble with finding room for my hand to hold the stand comfortably. I wish it had come with a stand that extended from within it so that I could have put him in better places; birds don't like to be near the ground. Also, it was very light-weight so that it was always easy to accidentally push over or off of something and then the bowl part of it would just disassemble. I wouldn't buy this again. I still have it because my bird got out, aka likely died, and I can't seem to part with "his" belongings. I have never gotten over that bird.

July 2016 - After a couple of years using this perch, I've found that the width of the perch is just too big for my cockatiel. He tolerates sitting on it for a few minutes, but does not look comfortable. He easily can become off balanced on it (not able to curl his toes very far around the perch). If your bird is a little bigger than a cockatiel, it should be fine. I still like all of the features I wrote about, just not the width of the perch. I wish it could have a couple of perch size options. 2013 - I purchased this bird perch so that my 'tiel can join me in the kitchen when I am cooking and washing dishes. The 4 pieces can be put together into many combinations. Just experiment and see what works best for you and your bird. I love that it has a catcher for droppings, making it very convenient for use in any room. It is made entirely of plastic, which makes it very easy to wash. The actual perch is a little thick for my 'tiel's feet, but it's surface has a rough design that resembles wood, providing a good grip surface. The only improvement I would suggest is for a treat cup attachment. My 'tiel is skittish about new things, but quickly adapted to it and is enjoying visiting with me around the house. This was a great purchase, both price AND usefulness!

Perfect for a Caique-sized parrot or smaller (in weight), but my African Grey (who's big enough to have her excrement land in the correct spot in the tray) makes the entire stand shake and she's afraid of it tipping over so she doesn't like it. All of the parts are very light and come apart extremely easily (by design, but annoying). This IS NOT a good step-up trainer for a baby or biting/in a bad mood larger (African Grey, Amazons, Macaws, etc.) parrots, as they can easily still reach your arm with one minor stretch of the neck. It's very easy to clean and safely sterilize to avoid exposing your birds to the toxins in most cleaning products. I wouldn't buy this again, simply because I have a Caique AND and African Grey. If I only had a Caique, I would consider it - however the Caique excrement doesn't quite reach the target bowl portion of the tray that's out of sight, resulting in this needing to be cleaned more often than the other toys for both appearance and sanitary purposes. Cleaning this more often is not a big deal though if you have multiple birds who are spoiled rotten - as I said before, this thing is very easy to clean, and I feel like I'm always cleaning something for these birds anyway!

Great product, sturdy and my parrot loves it. It catches any food droppings and poop, just wipes away. Wish I had known about these a while ago

A great perch to use around the house instead of one of the larger stands on wheels. My Quaker loves this perch bc I can take him all around the house, having him sit with me at the table, on the couch, at my desk. My only disappointment is that the t-stand piece is quite slippery and often my parrot slips and loses his footing. Would prefer if it was a non slip surface. You can see that they have tried to add some texture to the perch so it's more like a branch but it is not even close to adequate. Still, this does allow it to be easily cleaned so I suppose that's the trade off. I highly recommend this product!
