The defacto standard for instrument jacks
Switchcraft mono single-prong jacks are all I will use in guitar builds. I have tried Pure Tone and all the other common ones; there's no reason to bother with those. Simple, makes a great connection, affordable, well made to last for years. This is it.

A little pricey for a jack, but a nice component
Switchcraft quality is well known. This jack does what you'd expect - it creates a nice tight secure connection between your instrument and the cable. I'm not a metalsmith, but people in the industry tend to laud Switchcraft for the quality of their materials, so I'll take them at their word. It's a touch expensive for a jack and I think there are some other worthy contenders out there. (I'll try to link something I think is a better bang for your buck, but I don't know if Amazon scrubs links from these reviews or not. If they do...oh well, I tried). That said, even though it's a little much for a tiny piece of metal, it's a worthy upgrade if you're having connection issues with your instrument. Cheaper jack that creates an even better/tighter connection linked below: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F9TRP6GH

It's switchcraft!
Is it really necessary to say anything more. I was going to compare switchcraft quality to a fine motor car. But then I realized for all the money, there's no car that holds up like switchcraft.
