Outstanding customer service!
This product came to me with a CATV cable adapter that was not standard F-Type. It was unusable. This company worked directly with me and I provided a diagram for them to have a custom made adapter. They had this made and sent me samples to approve for manufacturing. GREAT customer service that was totally unexpected. I received the adapter and it worked perfect and allowed a standard F-Type cable end to be used. Just outstanding. The device can now be used for signal testing and works great.

Use a different vendor for this tester.
The battery on this is dead and never worked, I could not charge it at all. I am going to buy a Klien tools to do what I need for cable installation, this is junk.

Well pleased with the performance
I'm not a techie which is why I'm well pleased with this tester. I just have to make sure there is a via signal at the cable drop. Once this tester was set for channel frequencies in the US I can now test for all channels on our cable system and their overall strength.

No Idiot Light
I’m an electronics tech so I understand technical parameters. Of course you can use it to just tell you if you have a signal but it’s kind of dumb to spend this kind of money when you can get an idiot light a lot cheaper. It’s basically what the cable guys use and I doubt if even they know what everything means. The problem with this is that the two inline F connectors they give you only one side would screw into either the meter (it’s a male) or a cable F connector. I had to go to Home Depot and buy two more at $7. Aside from that it works fine with it’s idiosyncrasy of needed multiple pushes on the power switch to turn on. This is the same problem as mentioned by another purchaser Make sure you fully charge it first even if the battery indicator shows that it’s fully charged. The charger light with be red but turns green when the meter is charged. .

Perfect meter
I use this one in cabling business, I work for spectrum and Comcast. The meter doesn’t give the exact downstream reading, however, when it shows 50-60, I know it’s roughly equivalent to +12 decibels as would be on Thrilithic or other expensive meters. For $75 is perfect choice because it shows the reading immediately

I regret buying this meter.
I put in great effort to test this tool, but I ended up disappointed. I list the problems I found below. I feel note #2 is the most unacceptable, causing me to return my purchase. 1. The manufacture correctly specifies that this tool is intended for CABLE TV signals only, NOT over-the-air transmissions. So the tool does not recognize channel numbers for virtual nor actual channels of any over-the-air broadcasters in the U.S. (There is a secret menu to transform the possible channels for different countries, but NONE of the selections will give you U.S. over-the-air channels.) The tool will allow direct input of a frequency in MHz, so that is the work-around to check an antenna for over-the-air digital TV reception. BUT: when entering a frequency directly, you CANNOT access the advanced meter functions of Dual-Channel, Slope, and Carrier-To-Noise measurements. 2. The meter is not selective enough, meaning other signals bleed over from adjacent channels and contaminate the reading being displayed. Example: I took a reading when a specific TV transmission was OFF the air. The reading was surprisingly high. Hours later, when the signal came back on the air, the reading on the meter was the same for that frequency. This is a severe deficiency that can render measurements to be unpredictably inaccurate. 3. The backlight is not able to be turned off (despite instructions to the contrary), which increases battery consumption. 4. The power button is incredibly flaky, but it always works eventually. 5. The user manual (contained on a CD) is poorly translated into English. There was one section (about two different methods of Carrier-To-Noise measurement) that I was not able to comprehend. The manual never mentions the secret menus, nor the 6 pin DIN connector on the instrument. To conclude on a positive note, an adapter is included to be able to connect this meter to standard U.S. F-type TV coaxial cable connectors.

It never gave me good readings, always bouncing around
This meter was very difficult to understand and use. It never gave me good readings, always bouncing around, and was always reading high. I should have listened to the other guys and not gotten this meter. What a waste of money.

Low cost level tester for CATV
It works but is not exactly intuitive to use. Make sure you read the manual...
