Does the black caulk dry to a gloss, or is it more matte finish, like a dull rubber?

it still retains a dark matte color I would not say dull, but not a gloss finish

Will it bond to bare aluminum to seal around the rivets?

Yes, I used it to seal my roof fans on my Sprinter. It adhered to painted metal (scored the paint), wood framing of the opening, plastic shroud and aluminum pressure plates. I am extremely satisfied with this product and from the day installed, it shows no wear even after a year. Excellent product... Another really good product is 3m 4200 Marine Adhesive...

Will this bond to rubber?

Not sure about rubber, but everything else I happened to get it on and let dry it stuck like paint. My clothes, stainless railings, fiberglass cabin, teak of course, cork fishing rod handle, my leather wallet. . .
