can you use this on cloth diapers too?

Yes! Cloth diapers must be washed in HOT water. This should get rid of any residue from the ointment. Use Dreft detergent only.

is this clear in color or is it white?

A&D ointment is a mixture of petrolatum (like vaseline), lanolin and a few other additives; it's an opaque yellowish color but goes on fairly clear. It does not have the white zinc oxide in it like the stuff you use for diaper rashes. This works well as an every day protectant for diaper changes. I'd recommend the tubes of A&D rather than this tub, though--keeps the ointment uncontaminated during use (tub is just a big open glob, easy to get gross from dirty hands).

Does This Contain Aloe Vera?

The 1 pound jar label lists Active Ingredients as -"Lanolin 15.5% -Petrolatum 53.4%" You can lift the top label to read to underneath label, which lists Inactive Ingredients as ="cod liver oil (contains vitamin A & vitamin D), fragrance, light mineral oil, microcrystalline wax, paraffin" Hope that helps.

Is there supposed to be a safety seal on the tub?
