I have a problem backing out of driveway at night. - would these sufficelighting surface

I think these lights would help!

need a bridge or transformer or wifi to install? I want pure battery only and stick in ground

No bridge, transformer or wifi. These only require installing batteries and putting them in the ground- done.

How much movement is required to keep the lights on? If I'm sitting on the patio will I have to wave my arms occasionally to keep them on?

Very little, they are pretty sensitive, but it sounds like you're really looking for ones that are always on or off, not motion sensor.
