Sparthos Knee Compression Sleeves by (Pair) – Joint Protection and Support for Running, Sports, Knee Pain Relief (Desert Beige, Large)

It was pretty good, but not what I was looking for. It was very soft and I love that. Worth a try.

The support of this product might best be described as "light to medium", but it did offer some support for my torn meniscus while I had to put off having surgery. The fabric is nice and has held up to many washings...BUT...in spite of only washing with cold water and only laying flat to dry, they have shrunken slightly over time. And to answer your unspoken question, no, I have not gained weight in this time period, in fact I have lost 5 lbs. I am 5'3", 150lbs. My leg measurements fell firmly in the size L category. With the slight shrinkage, they are still wearable, but only underneath pants as wearing with shorts it definitely looks like I'm wearing a brace that is too small. I have since had surgery on my knee. I ordered an XL this time firstly to accommodate for the remaining swelling in the joint, and also because I anticipate a slight bit of shrinking over time as had happened previously. The XL is a much better fit. I wonder though how anyone who is really large can wear these braces as the sizes don't go too much larger and I am really not that big! I am generally very pleased with this item as I tried and returned several other knee compression sleeves prior to finding the Sparthos and I do recommend them for anyone who needs light to possibly moderate support for their knees.

I rely on these sleeves in dancing. I only use one of them as only my right knee has issues -- meniscus tear and wobbliness. I felt that my knee joint was more stable and held in place than without the sleeve. I also own a more heavy duty knee brace (a different brand) -- an adhesive wrap with a donut hole around the knee cap. That one definitely provides great support but is not designed for a wide range of mobility and is too bulky to put under my leggings unlike the Sparthos sleeves. The way I use it is I flip the sleeve inside out and fold down the top inwards so that the silicon band is still around my thighs. This way I can hide the hexagon pattern and only show the inner nude color side to blend in with my dance costumes. You can also use this approach for a tighter fit since the top opening is smaller. Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase. Coming in as a pair you will get a spare sleeve as a replacement if you just need one sleeve at a time.
