Good things come in small packages. The Sharp Check KT20 is the first edge sharpness tester designed specifically by EOU for testing the edge sharpness of kitchen cutlery. Now you can actually measure the sharpness of your good kitchen cutlery knives in your own kitchen, simply and quickly. The Sharp Check KT20 will indicate both when to sharpen and when your edges have been sharpened to their individual optimal level via it's numerical display. The KT20 accommodates most common kitchen knives from paring to large chef's knives and will accurately display the sharpness level (25 gram resolution) of any edge from brand new to well used. The KT20 determines edge sharpness by measuring the pressure required to sever a self contained test media. This is exactly the same technology embodied by our commercial line of sharpness testers used by sharpening professionals, knife manufacturers and industrial users worldwide. Like all our edge testing instrumentation, the KT20 is tied to the BESS (Brubacher Edge Sharpness Scale). The BESS allows you to compare the sharpness of your edges to other sharp edges immediately (like the sharpness level of a brand new knife edge or even a razor blade) and, if you like, to share that edge sharpness information with other BESS advocates and users in numerical form.
