Strong enough for ford F-350 lug nuts
I drive a Ford F-350, and this Makita impact wrench is a real lifesaver on the road. It has more than enough power to handle stubborn lug nuts and makes the job so much quicker. The tool is a bit heavy, but that’s the trade-off for the strength it delivers. The grip feels solid and secure, which gives extra confidence when working. Solid, reliable, and absolutely worth having if you work with trucks

Works great, heavier than expected
Torque is excellent, removes nuts my air impact won't get off. I like that it has 3 rpm/torque settings. Surprisingly heavy but fits my hand OK. Build quality is good, seems like it will take a lot of abuse.

Just one more GREAT Makita power tool!
I am huge fan of Makita power tools, and I own multiple Makita products. All of my Makita tools are corded except for my drill and now my impact. I have a 1/2" and 3/4" Ingersoll Rand air impacts that have tons of power and super reliable like most air tools. Unfortunately, I don't always have access to an air compressor, and I would prefer not to have to use manual hand tools to change a tire when I travel. I've been told by many people that the battery powered impact guns have plenty of power to the job and I can say that this Makita has more power than my 3/4" air impact. This impact is an absolute beast to put it lightly. I will suggest buying a 5.0- or 6.0-amp hour battery to use with this impact gun. If you're looking for a powerful impact that will last and probably replace all of you air impacts, buy the Makita!

Does the job with plenty of torque!
I bought this as used like new. There was quite a discount from the new price. It didn’t come in the original box but all parts were there. There were also a couple small scratches that are barely noticeable. As for the tool, it worked like new. Right after opening, I grabbed a socket and checked to see it it would free the lugs on my truck. The lugs were tightened to 150# torque and came off easily. Removing lugs was one of the main reasons I bought it. That alone makes this tool worth having. I was fortunate to find it used, but It’s still a nice tool to have if you DIY any type of vehicle work. The portability is a big plus over air, I’ll be keeping it in my trucks tool bin just in case.

Amazing power its all true
Bought Makita XWT08Z impact wrench to do one thing...remove a honda harmonic balancer crankshaft bolt at 181 ft-lbs known to be extremely difficult to break lose. I'm a weekend DYI hobbyist but I could not believe it took only 2 short bursts to loosen this bolt after all I read online about how difficult it was to remove. It was so easy with this tool and highly recommend it for this type of work for those looking at a tool for that purpose. I only used the Lisle 19mm socket made for crank bolt removal with this impact wrench and prepped crank bolt with PB blaster couple days beforehand..did not use any crank immobilizer tool for removal..amazing power! Tried on lug nuts at the highest setting to loosen and tighten but be careful when tightening because I did tighten a lug to 85 ft-lbs with 1-sec short burst that I discovered after using a torque wrench to do the final tightening and suggest a lower setting. Tool is on the heavier side but evidences the metal build quality with strategically placed rubber the around the head for good grip and high impact plastic handle, like all Makita impact tools. Also has a brake to stop rotation when you release the trigger, which is something I wish corded impact wrenches would provide. I also own a 18V Makita impact driver set and did try the 3.0 Ah battery on it, that does work but only at the lowest setting. I did not actually try to hammer anything with that battery just fitment and to know battery would work. Deferred to use the new 5.0 Ah battery for any work at the highest setting uses. I have to admit my 3.0 Ah batteries are the older (no star) type... guessing that it may have slightly different chip on it that limits the power setting on the wrench. Overall extremely impressed and happy with this tool and will find many uses for it.

It might be a Lil Heavy but packs a punch
My compressor is just taking up space & is ready for the scrap yard. Its been the 2nd one I work until it becomes scrap metal. I have seen these Cordless Impacts for years. I can't do many lil side hustles without a compressor. so I took a big chance on this Makita Impact. My nephew said get one you have lots of Makita tools that haven't let you down. Years go by Makita can only get better. When I finally got it man I was so surprised. i mean just solid & nothing but brute strength. I broke it in on a 99 Chevy Tahoe removed all the wheels & reinstalled them on one Battery. Just to be safe I took my Torque Wrench making sure they were tight enough. I set my Torque Wrench to 150# out 24 lug nuts i only had to retighten one or two & to this moment think it was my fault. I have only used it twice so far but it has paid it's self off twice over. Can't say its as good as an air Wrench but close enough from my point of view. Its under priced as good as it works. worth every dollar invested in it. I highly recommend it. I am sure with new batteries the torque will be amazing. It beats doing a brake bleeding job by hand. Saves you time & effort

Excellent quality and performance
I bought this tool to use when changing or rotating wheels/tires on my travel trailer. These lug nuts are torqued to 115 foot pounds (or pound-feet if you aren't old like me) on 4 wheels, 5 lug nuts per wheel for a total of 20 lug nuts. This tool easily breaks these nuts loose and spins them off the 2 inch long threaded studs in about 2 seconds per each. Power to spare- no contest, no hesitation. Prior to this I had an air tool impact wrench that struggled with this same application. I hesitated to spend the significant amount of dollars to purchase this tool but now that I have it I'm very happy that I did spend that money and have a top of the line solution. No negatives in this design- durable, compact, efficient. Highly recommend!

I'm using this mostly for assembling pallets made from pressure treated 2x6 and 4x4. Driving 3/8"x4" bolts through the wood takes about 2 seconds, whereas my old pneumatic with similar torque ratings was more like fifteen. No more waiting for air pressure to build up after a few bolts, and much faster. Pros; High torque Fast Quick recharge Cordless Easy forward/reverse switching Variable speed (smooth) Cons:Heavy Power setting located in awkward spot
