Memories from Missionary Life in Africa!
These rusks survived shipping to me and were in great condition and mostly unbroken. The texture and freshness was great and you can enjoy these with a cup of rooibos tea with some condensed milk in it like we did in Africa when I was a child. They taste a little like biscotti but not as sweet and without almonds. The ingredients are: Wheat flour, palm fruit vegetable oil, TBHQ, buttermilk powder, baking agents, flavorings, soya and salt. I am normally very allergic to palm oil and ate some of these before I read the ingredients! I have not broken out so there must not be very much palm oil in these or maybe it is not hydrogenated. They seem mostly made from flour so do have gluten! I had to explain these to my husband and he thought they were like biscotti. He had never heard of a rusk before! ~The Rebecca Review, used to live in Africa from age 7-19 and love eating foods from that time period again!

Good product but bad shipping
Authentic risks, excellent flavor, about a quarter of the rusks were broken up in shipping.

Good office snack
Went to South Africa for vacation. Needed a work/office souvenir. Saw these in the local supermarket. Buying through Amazon saved packing space and let me buy more than I would have if I had actually brought them back. They are dry so best with coffee and tea. But tasty. They disappeared pretty quickly so I'm guessing people enjoyed munching on them .
