Good Quality and Performance
Considering the low cost of these controllers, they are good quality, the plastic case is heavy and rigid, surfacing is a low lustre micro texture finish, the sticks response is not quite as progressive as a Nintendo controller, the button switches have a lighter action, due to being very inexpensive membrane switches, I do like the positive spring return on the L and R shoulder toogles. Overall, I am quite impressed, especially considering that a Nintendo produced controller at Amazon.ca is $49 in Canada. I bought four, because they are a good buy from a 3rd party manufacturer and retailer that offer both competitive pricing and performance. Will it last forever? Nothing does... but I hope to get several hundred hours, playing my favourite games; Killer 7, Viewful Joe 2 and PNO3.

Worked well
I bought three of these pads, all seem to work perfectly, have played Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Kolona, Sonic Colors, some NFS games, and alot of gamecube games with them and these pads work just right, they are lighter than the Nintendo pads, but provide same functionality, theres no click between half-held and fully pressed on the L and R buttons, but they are actually very smooth buttons (feel almost like xbox 360 triggers)but other than that, they are almost exactly like the originals, and yes, they work with any wii game that supports gamecube pads, so it is fully compatible with gamecube and wii (atleast in my experience). They are also pretty durable from what ive noticed, my lil bro is rough with gamepads.. even tosses them.. and these still work if character moves continuously in a direction (happened to me once) unplug controller, and plug back in without moving the joysticks that is pretty mcuh only prob i had with mine the entire time I owned them, and it was because my bro was playing with it while I was plugging it in.

Cheap and imprecise controls, but it works!
I'm rating it 4/5 stars because it's cheap and it works okay--not because it's great quality, but rather a good value. I use this for gamecube games like Smash Bros and Mario Kart on the wii, and for that it works just fine--I don't really experience any disadvantages to using this controller vs. the authentic one. For quick and casual gameplay, and considering you probably won't need it to work for a decade, you're probably better off saving your money and getting this one. Our authentic controller has survived fifteen years and is still in impeccable condition, but because I only want another controller for occasional trips down memory lane with old games, I don't need anything incredibly durable. Cons? It's cheap, and literally half or a third the weight of an authentic controller. For very precise, delicate movements with the joysticks, you're going to have a headache; for example, trying to change the CPU level with a slider (which require delicate joystick movement) on Smash Bros is an enormously laborsome effort. However, for basic games where very precise movement with joysticks aren't imperative, you probably won't notice a difference. Pros? It works, and it's cheap. Other than weighing less than half of the original controller, it doesn't seem too different.

Avoid. Not worth the risk.
This isn't the cheapest gamecube controller out there, it's just the next step up, so although it had more than its share of bad reviews, I thought I'd give it a shot since some of the reviews made it sound decent enough. I ordered it new. Well, the first thing I noticed after taking it out of its brand new clam-shell packaging was that it was scuffed up. Like it had been dropped on a hard surface a few times or kicked. Not a great sign. A worse sign was when I noticed the "C" on the C-Stick was backwards. Somehow, and I cannot imagine how it happened, the C-Stick was installed upside down. You would think the tabs or whatever they used to insert the stick when installing it wouldn't match-up, but obviously it doesn't matter and it passed their "quality control." Second thing I noticed was the shoulder triggers. If you didn't press directly in the center of the trigger, they would go off their tracks (and not register as being pressed, I would find). When I started up a few games, I discovered more issues. When you pressed any face button it went down with a noticeable (and expected) sound of a button press, but that didn't mean anything. Even though the button would be depressed, you have to press down extra hard for it to register as actually being pressed. Annoying but manageable. To my surprise both analog sticks seemed to work fine for the games I was trying, where you would press hard in one direction or another to swing the camera around or run. Later I would plug the controller into my computer (with a 3-in-1 usb adapter I already owned), and through my configuration utility I found the upside-down C-Stick had a lean to it. It wasn't a problem with the RPG games I tried, however for something more sensitive like a FPS game or a flying game, that may have rendered the game effectively unplayable. The worst issue I discovered however (as all the other issues COULD be manageable with enough practice, patience and determination on your part), was the fact that the D-Pad simply didn't work right. Pressing Up on the pad worked, sometimes Left worked, Down worked occasionally if you hammered the direction and pressed as hard as you could, and Right simply didn't register at all. And on top of everything else, the cable was maybe 6 feet, being generous. I returned the controller within four days of receiving it. Based on some of the other reviews here, if you order one of these you may get one that has all its parts in working order, but it seems to be a crapshoot. The factory / home / whatever building in china these came out of (it did have "made in china" on the back) has to have no quality control. They must slap together the parts based on a diagram and ship them out. That's the only explanation I can think of for my experience and all the other reviews.

Decent buy
Product came in package as pictured works just as good as an og gamecube controller. At first I was sceptical to purchase this brand do to the price and reviews but I was like anything is better than the crap controller I have currently for my gamecube for the price makes for a real cheap replacement controller feels as good as the nintendoGC brand controller it's a little stiff at first but a little breaking in and it'll be fine mine doesn't feel cheap at all from the reviews I have read I plugged it in and I played 8hours straight no problems at all it responded well all the buttons worked well for a third party controller I'm pretty impressed back in the day I had mad catz brand and pellican brand and they were always crap shoots get good ones get bad ones that's with any third party brands from reviews on this brand it's a crap shoot as well so keep that in consideration when purchasing this product or any cheap third party brand for me this turned out to be a real decent buy

They function pretty well for knockoffs
I purchased two of these to replace Nintendo brand controllers that had finally kicked the bucket after living long, well-used lives. They function pretty well for knockoffs, that's for sure, but they don't last terribly long. As with all my off-brand controllers, I took them apart for quality inspection on receiving them. I'm quite experienced with disassembling gaming equipment. I was happy to find that there weren't any sharp points threatening to fray the cord where it connects inside the controller (that's a common issue with knock-offs; they don't properly sand the plastic after it's molded) but I reinforced where the plastic rubs on the wire with electrical tape anyways, just to be safe. Everything looked perfectly fine, but within about two months one of them began having the right shoulder trigger button fail on a regular basis. I cracked her open and cleaned the connections with surgical alcohol to clear any interference in the signal, but alas, it seems the static switch itself was just... dying. It still works well for any game that doesn't reliably need the right shoulder trigger button, but since it mostly gets used for Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers, that sadly makes it useless. The other controller is still holding up well. Now if ONLY I could tell them apart...

Great Buttons!
Love this controller! The buttons have more of a slight click, Which I find more satisfying then on a real gamecube controller. Great value considering what gamecube controllers cost these days. If you're looking for controllers for your gamecube setup, I highly recommend these as a cost effective solution that's just as reliable as Nintendo branded controllers, great buy!
