Perfect fit for Brita filters

We’ve been using a Brita pitcher with the Standard filters for over a year now, and overall they do exactly what I expect from a basic water filter. We’re in Winnipeg with regular tap water that has a slight chlorine taste. After filtering, the water tastes clean and neutral, kind of like typical carbon-filtered water. It’s very easy to drink, no noticeable smell, and it looks perfectly clear. We mostly use it for drinking water and occasionally for baby food preparation. One thing I really like is that you can clearly tell when the filter is reaching the end of its life. If I forget to replace it on time, the water flow becomes noticeably slower, which is a clear sign it’s time to change the filter. I followed the instructions before first use by soaking it in cold water until the air bubbles came out. We are a family of four. A full pitcher usually lasts us about two days if we remember to refill it regularly. I used to rely on the electronic indicator on the pitcher, but it stopped working, so now I replace the filter based on taste and flow speed. Pros: - Clean, pleasant taste - No chlorine smell - Clear water - Easy to tell when replacement is needed Cons: - Filtration gets quite slow near the end of the filter’s life - Replacement indicators on pitchers are not always reliable (not the filter’s fault, but worth noting) Update after long-term use: After more than a year of continuous use, the filters remain consistent in quality. I haven’t noticed scale buildup in the kettle when using filtered water, though I admit we don’t always use filtered water for everything. I stick with original Brita filters because I know they fit properly and don’t want to risk compatibility issues with third-party options. Overall, a solid and dependable filter. I’d give it 4 stars — it does its job well, I just wish the filtration speed stayed faster for longer.
