This is a nice set. The board isn't so thick. It's easier to cart around. That's what I was looking for. It's well made. You can't go wrong.

Well constructed. Board was not warped. Stones were well made and the right size. A bit pricey for what you get, should have been cheaper, but the quality is good.

This was exactly what I was looking for! There are well over 180 stones we could use on a larger board too. The stones are a lovely plastic that don’t get cold in winter so that’s a plus for me. The containers for the stones don’t separate easily at all, I completely disagree with the other reviews on that one. Also! I chose this option because the board is thinner and is extremely solid and didn’t warp at all. It’s a very lovely game and a treasure for all time.

The quality of the go set pieces is excellent. The pamphlet has easy to follow rules and exercises that enable a novice to grasp the game with just an hour or two of effort. I had to laugh, though, at the pamphlet's dated assertion that computers were simply not up to the task of winning against top Go players -- search for DeepMind's AlphaGo AI program winning match against Lee Sedol, a terrific documentary.

The board was my biggest fear and it is much nicer than I thought. The stones are very nice and satisfying to touch and having the 9x9 has been so helpful to teach my friends with. You could easily upgrade just the board later and be just fine with these stones. I think it comes with the 180 count of each color. Couldn’t be bothered to count them one by one.

The stones were as advertised and the quality was good. The board material as well was of decent construction but the geometry was so off that it was a bit surprising. Symmetry is so important and everything about the board was off. The board itself isn’t square which is the first give away. The box and the packaging too. But even if the board weren’t square the game board itself needs to be square. The 13x13 was an inch shorter in one direction. The 9x9 was ~1/2inch off. I can not recommend this product until they fix their manufacturing and prove its validity.

It feels great to hold the pieces (great weight, texture, feel) and the board has a 9x9 grid on the back for beginners. The boxes the pieces live in is a bit flimsy - the lid has come off a few times, spilling them on the floor. There are plenty of pieces with this set though, so it's not the end of the world if you lose some.

Als totaler Go Neuling bin ich mit dem Set sehr zufrieden. Die Steinschalen aus plastik sind natürlich etwas "billig", aber bei dem Preis vollkommen okay. Das Brett und die Steine selber sind hochwertig (gerade die Steine fühlen sich toll an). Wirklich sehr gut ist auch die Anleitung, die einen langsam aber gezielt an die Regeln (die letztendlich sehr einfach sind) und ein paar grundlegende Strategien heranführt.
