This outdoor protective box works well. This is the third box that I’ve bought for different areas around my property. The first one I bought was many years ago and it still functions perfectly. Great product if you have limited outlets, but need additional because you have more power needs than just two plugs. Keeps everything dry and safe. Highly recommend.

Bought this for outdoor Christmas light display. Seems like a pretty heavy-gauge plastic and the lid goes over a flange on the lower section, so that also helps with the water resistance. This lid is domed so that is going to help shed water (unlike the competitor's that has a dished lid). The only slightly tricky part is that there is a narrow piece that you have to lift off to get access to the holed for the electrical cords: you have to pull a tab on each side of this piece to get it to release & and this piece only goes back in one way (the flange is off-set). When I opened the box after it being outdoors for month, there was no water or condensation inside. Only complaints were that the instruction sheet could have been a little clearer and it seems a bit over-priced.

Great stuff. Installing lights around perimeter of my deck. This is perfect for keeping the 'at risk' electricals water safe. Seal system is clever, but there was some flex in the box when I drilled it to the wall - need to get it perfectly square. Lots of gaskets. Pleased with this.

EDIT: November 2022 - its not so much that I got a bum box, but rather the rubber grommet in the box (that surrounds the wires and provides a water proof seal) was bad. The grommet is in 2 parts, but the one I initially received had fused into one piece. The manufacturers kindly sent me a new box (thank you!) and I quickly realized the problem. I did ultimately give the box 4 stars because it does not perform as advertised - one needs to use thinner wires than the product info indicates it supports. Using a standard outdoor extension cable (like the ones pictured) stress and deform the box enough that it leaves a tiny sliver of an opening. I just surrounded the box with a garbage bag, and it solved that problem. Just short of a slam dunk! ORIGINAL: September 2022: There are no real instructions for how to thread the cables into the box. So I did the best I could (the box itself is on the roof serving as a junction box for a remote control timelapse photography rig so it is hard to access so I don’t have a picture of the way it is) but I must be doing something wrong, because I can’t fit the attaching thing down far enough and it makes the box go out of square when I try to close it. Consequently, it leaks along the edges and I have to contain it in a trash bag to protect water does not get in. So it works but I’d rather not have to do this work around if somebody knows the proper way to thread the wires into the box. Thanks!
