Wera 05056491001 Tool-Check Plus Imperial, 39 Pieces

I keep this Wera Tool-Check Plus in my bag for quick fixes and it’s been a game changer. The mini ratchet is surprisingly sturdy for its size, and the bit selection covers almost everything I need. The case is compact and keeps everything organized. Only downside: the handle is small, so it’s not ideal for heavy-duty torque. But for light to medium tasks, it’s excellent. Great for EDC or keeping in your car.

This is a great (quality) set for small jobs and small areas to loosen and tighten nuts and bolts. I had gotten one with the metric system which I like a lot, but I recently needed a standard American (Imperial) system when I realized the sockets were not fitting the nuts that needed tightening for a recent task. Since I liked the quality so much with the first one, I got this one as well. It’s so compact and the metal feels like quality metal. The ratchet sounds like it has a very fine toothed, precision gear. I would have liked one larger sized socket rather than the smallest size, which I’ll likely not use. But that’s just a personal preference. This is well worth the money. At the time of this purchase it was $77.00, U.S. There’s a lot in this little kit. I do simple tasks, and I don’t need large, heavy tools. I do like quality tools though, made with quality metals, and this set feels like that to me. It will be a great companion to my Leatherman tools. I was needing a ratchet fro some time now, and they don’t make one.. I definitely recommend this set if you like quality compact tools. When I’ve used it for a while and really feel it’s been given a good test, I will update this review.

This is a really handy little package, I love wera and I own a lot of their tools. Sockets, screwdrivers, and this now. But it’s not worth $130. It should be listed closer to $50-$75 and $75 is still kind of high. Little bit of buyers remorse. There’s 7 sockets, and I’ll probably only ever use 3 or 4. I feel most won’t use the 3/16, 1/4, or 11/32 and rarely use the 5/16. If it came with maybe a mix of the most used metric/imperial sockets, it’d pack its bang for its buck but as it stands, not worth $130 imo.

This is without doubt the most beautiful set of tools I’ve ever owned. In fact, it’s one of the most beautiful objects I’ve ever owned. It’s perfectly realized. The holder is masterfully designed. The bits and the sockets are well fastened and labeled but are easily accessible. The handle on the side is well positioned and secured. And the adapter and mini ratchet are ingeniously held in place at the top. The bit set is extensive and they and the sockets fit in any standard tool. Yes, the handle and ratchet are very small. But that means that they fill a void for most of us who have the standard-sized versions. But the set also gives us a lot of well made and labeled bits and sockets in a wonderful form factor. And it being Wera, the sockets are colorful and nice to look at. I can’t tell you the number of times that I take out this set just to admire it. It’s simply as close to perfect as a set of tools can be.

Wera just makes great tools! Great selection of bits, but did add a couple of Robertson bits though. It is really compact, easily fits in a glovebox or under a seat. While the tools themselves are small, they are handy to have around in a pinch.
