This concoction is about as far away from coffee taste as one can get. To my taste, it is distasteful in both flavor and aroma - closer to extract of cigarette butt. I haven't found an instant to compare to freshly brewed coffee but, I assure you there are better options out there if you need the convenience of instant.

i think they was packed wrong. when i opened mine i nearly cut my hand because one jar was broken so i only got 5 jars. all they had was a thin bit of plastic and the box they come in. they should be packed saying careful glass inside. and more packing needed. the way parcels are thrown about does not help if there is glass inside then it should be noted on the box in big letters. i still got a great bargain that i am pleased with but i could have cut my hand very bad if it was my little granddaughter who opened the box i would dread to think how much damage could have been done to her little hands. i trust you will see this put right. We have enjoyed Douwe Egberts Gold as our favourite instant coffee for many years, but the price has soared in local supermarkets. This pack of six was excellent value. It was well packed with protection for the glass jars, and it was delivered the next day with Amazon Prime. As long as this offer is available we will continue to buy our coffee this way.
