Makes the best stakes ever!

This is a great pan. Yes, it’s heavy, but it is cast iron, and should last for a very long time. Because cast iron heats evenly, you do not need to cook on high heat. Doing so, can cause the food to burn and make it very difficult to clean possibly causing it no longer to be non stick. My husband loves them, but I have to remind him medium heat will get the doneness he wants just as fast. Make sure you let the pan cool completely before washing in hot soapy water. After rinsing, I wipe it down with a couple paper towels. Then I put it in a warm oven to allow it to dry completely. Some have complained that the edge is rusting on their pan. Putting it in a warm oven will prevent any rust from forming. I also have 2 ceramic Dutch ovens as well as a smaller ceramic skillet. I am happy with all of them. I highly recommend this pan.

Fantastic piece of cookware. I suppose one could pay three times the amount for a fancy French brand, but I don’t know why. This thing is HEAVY and well enameled. Take it from the range top to the oven, or vice versa. Red color matches my other Crock Pot Artisan pieces. Slight negative? The factory packaging only covers the body of the pot and lid, leaving the long handle and helper handle exposed. As a result, my piece arrived with a slight scratch on the long handle. I’m not concerned as I actually use my cookware, and before long it will develop its own unique patina inherent to quality cookware. I only mention this to warn those who see cookware as a decoration about the possibilities. Otherwise, Crock Pot Artisan continues to impress with their quality and value. Highly recommended.
