How long does the heat last?

Thank you for your question. The duration of heat depends on the condition in which the heat pack is activated. Overall, it should last between 30 and 45 minutes. For example, if you are going to be using it outside in extreme cold, we recommend carrying it inside a coat or pocket. The colder the starting temperature of the heat pack, the more energy it will required to heat up and ultimately affect the length of time the product stays warms. Could I use it to keep my food warm in my lunch box?

Safe holding temperature for hot food is min 140F. These only get to 130F and reviews say they last an hour or less. In short, I wouldn't recommend them for keeping food warm. Look into vacuum bottles, such as Thermos for food safe options.

I'm looking for heat packs to use in my wetsuit while scuba diving.  Would these work?

We use heat packs like this one all the time while diving. In fact, I was looking them up to buy more for that purpose.

Our typical use is to warm students hands between dives, but we have used them in wetsuits. As Amy pointed out, it's best not to put them directly against the skin, but they work well over a dive skin and under the wetsuit. They also work in a dry suit, but again, not directly over the skin. But between dives, when your hands are wet and getting cold int he breeze, they are amazing!
