Yes. It pops up "Resume" when I come back to watch a movie.

Have there been any reported freezing problems midway through any specific blu-ray movies?

I've had mine for over 3 years and it doesn't often freeze during playback, but it does tend to freeze using the YouTube app fairly frequently - oddly enough it's always during ads. It's probably frozen during playback about 4 or 5 times in the 3 years

Why is this bring sold on Amazon for $1599 when the listed manufacturer price from Panasonic is $999? This is a ripoff!

You might also notice that this player features 4k while some other offerings are limited to 1k. That also adds value to the more expensive version. You need to compare apples to apple and oranges to oranges before you make such harsh criticisms of the $1399 version over the $999 version. Bothe versions are available through Amazon. If you want to down grade to a less capable version that is also limited to one region for playback, you will get a good although less capable version of the Panasonic player.
