The red dyed the rest of my dyed (not bleached) hair but didn't stick well to my dark blonde roots. Any tips to get it to stick to my natural hair?

It probably is staying some, but because of your virgin hair not having any chemical services, the cuticle (outer layer of hair strand..like shingles on a roof) is shut down tight. It's not that it wont take the color but resistant. If your virgin hair was light..like a level 6-10 you would see it. Your tinted hair having been tinted as you called "dyed" has a roughed up cuticle because of the developer in the tint. Bottom line this line and even manic panic will not really show up on hair that is too dark. NOW IF YOU BOUGHT A DARKER MANIC PANIC..AT LEAST AS DARK AS YOU NATURAL COLOR, (REGROWTH) YOU MIGHT SEE A DEEPER BUT COLORFUL RESULT. These colors are really made for pre lightened hair. My hair is bleached out to white, and in an undercut pixie. My hair came out fuschia with this color (plus some manic panic I mixed with it, in cleo rose) So I figured that my hair was too light to get the depth. Does this make sense? I am a retired colorist. So I am pretty good with these stains and color levels which will darken my color. I need to add a color darker than the pravana vivid red. If you go to a hairdresser and have them lighten your roots a bit, and then re-apply this color, you will get some effect. and the ends will absorb even more and be a little deeper. I like this line, but I wish they had more color choices. Manic Panic will give you MANY HUGE CHOICES. ALSO PUNKY COLORS. If you can find a tint this color, you could apply that just to the roots and it might blend nicely. Hope this helps.

Question 2

I have black box dye hair. Mostly washed out. If i use the red will it work at all? Im trying to slowly add red pigment withoit bleaching it

If most of the black has washed out of your hair and it is a very pale grey left the red should work fine.  Just remember to NOT shampoo for a couple days after you put the color in as the shampoo will pull the color out faster
 - just rinse with cool to cold water and condition.  Also remember that red fades faster than any of the other colors.

if i didn't dye my dark brown hair would it come out too dark? i'm looking to do an ombre red effect on my hair,anyone dye w/o bleaching dark hair?

If you don't bleach before using the product, hair will need to be done twice to get the effect you want. It was not a problem for me since I wanted to be very subtle with my red color of choice over black hair anyway.

Does the pink show up well on natural honey blonde hair?

This only really works on white hair. My daughter has honey blonde hair and we saw almost no color after using the pink.
