Before this book came out I was already excited to get my hands on it! The first day it arrived my daughter at the time was 2 and looked through the book and asked to do “all the things Mommy”. We started off with the winter rice. I added all of my daughters frozen characters to it and that was it! She played for HOURS! Up next was the birthday cake, let’s just say she literally asks for it everyday when she gets up from her nap! If you don’t have this book, GET IT NOW! Ask the grandparents to buy it for you! Let’s be real it’s actually a gift for YOU! Thanks so much for this little gem!

Sensory play is a crowd pleasing activity in our family—our kids get to dive into their creative worlds & happy kids means happy parents—so I excitedly read this book for some more inspirational ideas for future bins. I love how well organized the instructions and tips were, from materials needed, to chapters divided by themes (Amazing Animals, Incredible Pretend Play, Easy Rice Bins, Simple Steam, etc.). My favorite themes are the “Brilliant Book-Based Bins” & “Exciting Seasonal & Holiday” themed bins. So fun and festive! Each activity comes with an age recommendation (most are 18 months+), setup time, materials needed, useful tips, and clear step by step instructions (from setup, play, to what to discuss). Fun fact: Did you know that sensory play supports childrens’ cognitive growth, language development, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction? Combining the sense of touch with the sense of vision, hearing, taste, and smell help build nerve connections in the brain’s pathways to build cognitive skills.

We bought this book to provide different types of play for my 2.5 year old toddler. The book is filled with various ideas with easily accessible material. Clear directions are provided and I was able to use things that are already in my home. My daughter loves Octonauts so we created an ocean sensory bib with blue salt and sea creatures. We paired the corn sensory bin with out barn and animals in which my toddler played independently for over an hour. This book is a wonderful addition to our home and I highly recommend it.
