why is this so expensive?? i usee to buy them $3-$5 each!

Not powder fine but fine enough to use in a typical pepper shaker. The course ground can not be used in a typical shaker as it’s too course to fit through the holes.

Does the lid of the 1 lb container have a spout to pore into shaker?

This particular product does not have a spout to pore into a shaker - the lid has two openings: one with small holes to use as a shaker, and the other with a large opening for pouring.
