This is my second LED lenser P7R, but I have purchased two M7Rs previously and been greatly satisfied with them. It appears to me that the P7R is replacing the M7R, which it greatly resembles. The combination tail switch and floating charger is I think the best feature of these impressive lights. My wife and daughters use them for walking the dogs at night in our semi-rural area and the light announces one's presence from at least 1/4 mile away, which is extremely desirable on a dark road where folks often drive faster than they should. The focussing is easy and the brightness control intuitive. The light itself is built like a tank. My one medium complaint is that in two of the four lights so far purchased, the charger died after 3 years or so. It appears to me that the failure mechanism is a broken wire in the flexible rubber support just emerging from the floating charger head. I should point out that we do not use the wall-mounted charger cradle, preferring to stand the flashlight on end on a shelf near the back door. Using the wall-mounted charger cradle would likely prevent the power cord from flexing where it enters the charging head and may obviate the noted failure mode. Fortunately, replacement charger heads are available.

I bought this for a law enforcement duty backup on the recommendation of a co-worker. I wanted something small, discrete, lightweight, no sharp edges to snag clothes, LED, and easily rechargeable. I fashioned a pocket clip from an old Surefire flashlight I had and can carry this in my front slash hand pocket with ease. I place it on the recharger after every shift so it's fully charged for the next day. It's very bright and the front bezel slides in/out for a broad or narrow beam. Manipulating the rear on/off button can be a tiny bit tricky one-handed if you want to double-click for strobe, or hold in for a dim setting. That said though, it's still a great backup to carry that doesn't take up much space, doesn't have to go into a belt holster, and is very bright for use. The charging dock for it works great on a desktop or in a locker, and can be plugged into a standard 12v charger in a vehicle. A bonus of that is that I can take it on vacation with me and plug it in our popup camper to make sure it stays charged at night. The only complaint I have with it is the wrist lanyard. The part of the lanyard that attaches to the light itself is a very narrow band and mine broke after a couple of months of use. It started to fray and once that began, there was no going back. One day it just gave up the ghost and went in the garbage. That's not a life-ender however. This is a great flashlight, is very very bright, very small, and easy to carry. I'd recommend it.

Great light. Small and bright. The button is a little tough to push but still like it.

Good quality, good design, love the charger and wall mount bracket, very expensive but worth it.
