1st birthday gift for my son - great wagon!!
My husband and I wanted to get our son a wagon for his first Birthday. I was looking at the plastic ones with the seats, seat belts, cup holders, and everything, but then when my hubby saw this one there was no way we were going to get one of the plastic ones. Since my son is only 14 months old and a little guy I do sometimes wish it had some kind of seat belts or something, but he has learned to hold on and not to stand up when the wagon is moving. We throw a blanket in there for him to sit on to make it a little more comfortable since it is a metal wagon. The wagon itself is awesome! It looks great, love the red color and the wooden rails. It is built of good materials. My husband was able to put it together while keeping an eye on the little guy in the backyard, he said it was easy to assemble. The tires did have a strong chemical smell out of the box as others have reported but it only took a few days to air out and didn't seem to bother my son at all. Our wagon did not arrive damaged as others reported (not a scratch) so we were very happy about that. The wagon rides smooth, even over bumpy terrain (for a wagon). Its pretty comfortable to pull, and turns easy. It is heavy (its metal!) and will fit two little ones comfortably. The best part, our little man just loves his wagon. His eyes light up when we pull it out of the shed for him. He loves to push it around the yard, and he loves to take wagon rides. Rides in the wagon have become part of his evening routine: dinner, wagon, bath, bed. We wanted something special for our 1st baby's first birthday and this was perfect. I'm sure our son will get a lot of use out of it - helping dad around the yard and taking his wagon rides. I'm hoping it lasts him for many years!

Glad I went for the Radio Flyer Wagon
I never had a wagon when I was a kid, so I could hardly wait to get one for my daughter. Now that she is starting to sit up fairly well (6 months), I figured it was a good time to make the purchase. I read lots of reviews for the many wagons that are out there. I quickly realized that a main factor affecting total cost is the quality of the tires included. However, I am extremely happy I ponied-up the money for a model with pneumatic (air-filled) tires. The plastic and solid rubber tires provide a much more jarring, rough ride, while the pneumatic ones glide much more smoothly and are compatible with more types of terrain. Also, it turns out that (for us) the Radio Flyer brand was a great choice. The assembly was straight forward (about 20 minutes... that included having to keep tabs on the baby). We got the model with the metal base and wood railings, and all areas of the wood and metal components are smooth and finished (no sharp edges). The quality seems everything that I would expect from a company with their type of reputation. My only complaint about the wagon (and many others have pointed this out) is that the tires smell like... well... new tires, meaning that until they aired-out sufficiently, the wagon smelled like the showroom at a tire center. For us, this wagon is turning into a surrogate stroller. Our daughter doesn't like being strapped into the stroller, and I was getting frustrated having to choose between pushing a screaming baby up and down the neighborhood or pushing an empty stroller while carrying the baby in my arms (and getting a sore back). Fortunately, she LOVES being carted around in the wagon. We added some padding (pillows/blankets) and now our daughter rolls like she is commanding a chariot. She couldn't be happier sitting their with a little freedom to move around and a toy or two in the wagon with her. The smooth ride on the pneumatic tires also seems to sooth her to sleep, and the wagon makes more a great little portable crib. Another cool thing about the Radio Flyer brand is that it seems anyone who is over 40 years old has nostalgia associated with the company, so it's a great conversation starter for a lot of folks who have a number of happy memories. Very happy with purchase!

Best Wagon Ever, Beats Plastic Models; GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
My husband had a wagon as a kid and so did I; we thought that this would be the best gift and experience for any kid! Conducted a lot of research prior to selecting this one, and as many other reviews noted, the features of this wagon are the best in class. A few aspects that largely contributed toward our decision were: (1) we both had this traditional style Radio Flyer (but back in the day the body was made of wood, opposed to its current metal body), (2) the removable wooden side panels (not removable with this version, though; you either screw them on or don't; we chose to only screw on the back for back support), (3) the TIRES were a huge factor! After reading many other reviews, we were able to conclude that the wagon definitely had to be maneuverable on all types of terrain and in all weather conditions. These tires are huge, but not goofy looking like the photo here. (4) The mass amount of reviews from other purchasers moves this wagon significantly ahead of any other model. It might not be as convenient as the plastic bulky wagons with built-in storage compartments and cup holders, but if you really want to, you can purchase those accessories for this model. (5) This wagon can easily fit into the trunk of an SUV or van, or in our case a truck, with no problems. The bottom line is that the kids absolutely love this wagon, and we couldn't be happier with our purchase. We're looking forward to them using it outside once it gets warmer. The CONS (PLEASE READ): The first wagon that we received was missing a few pieces. We wrote to the seller who quickly put another wagon in the mail to us. However, because this item was a Christmas gift, we had to go to a hardware store to pick up some pieces that could hold the wagon together until the replacement arrived. Unfortunately, it also meant that we had to disassemble the first wagon in order to pack and ship it. Our suggestion is that prior to assembly, ensure that all parts and tools are accounted for (and good for you if this is already standard practice). Another note is that the second wagon was not in ideal condition, parts wise. The wooden panels were scratched up and the drilled holes looked like they were drilled by an amateur. This issue was solved by selecting the good pieces from the first wagon and screwing them onto the replacement wagon. However, this is a perfectionist issue and perhaps by other standards, this little flaw of scratches and things wouldn't be as big a deal. Still highly recommend this wagon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Radio Flyer!!

Greatest little wagon ever made.
Love this little wagon so much I have two. I use them for my light gardening/yard work. But if you’re planning to buy one keep watch on the price. Don’t overpay during one of their big price jumps that they often have.

Good but needs a few tweaks
Easy to assemble, though materials are basically cheap plywood. Few tweaks I did: I didnt like the plywood feel and it not being waterproof and unable to stop things from sliding, specifically at the beach where I would want to clean it after weekly trips. The tray has no escape for water, meaning it would hold puddles of water over time of the wood swelling, inevitably damaging the wood, so I ended up doing this: I bought a 32 oz can of clear flex seal and just poured it in a let it dry. After, I drilled two holes in the base of it about size of a dime. The flex seal actually created a cushion feel base, waterproof it and reinforced the assembly. After the beach, I just rinse everything off, everything also stays in placed -no sliding everywhere, and the holes just let all the sand and dirt out of the base area with ease. All is good, but the smell from the rubber tires is like living in a jiffy lube tire center for 2 weeks fyi, noxious it is

High quality, cute, stylish, functional, durable--and I don't even have kids.
My wife is 100lbs, so she really needs something for hauling heavy items that doesn't make her look like a bag lady as she trucks things around in our New York City neighborhood, and with this item she does it with style. I could have gotten her one of those carts that nearly everyone here uses for laundry and grocery shopping, but as an avid cyclist I just couldn't accept the poor quality and durability of them. I almost designed and built my own option, but the Radio Flyer ATW really fit the bill, and sold for cheaper than whatever I might have created otherwise. Best features: Beautifully designed and made. Great paint job. Easy to assemble. Virtually maintainence free. The big tires and solid construction allow you to haul your moderately heavy loads over rough pavement, dirt and rocks, snow and ice. It even looks nice in our living room--where I would never keep one of those crappy folding carts. If you never even polish it--for which I recommend Pedro's Bike Polish--it would eventually look mottled (as I've seen old ones that were left in basements or outdoors without any maintainence) but will still look great, and for years to come. The quality paint will prevent corrosion for all but the heavy-duty user (such as those using it for a garden cart for instance). Despite having no children, we actually enjoy our Radio Flyer very much.
