Slicing Chips was never this easy
This slicer works very well, just as any german product. The only downside of owning this is that it's expensive and would wear out in maybe 3-4 years at the most.

Is super
Sehr gutes Ding. Funktioniert einwandfrei und ist leicht zu reinigen. Hab mir damit schon mehrmals die Fingerkuppe inkl. Fingernagel abgehobelt.

Deep cuts, and adjustable thickness, budget-friendly. This is the one for me!
After a lengthy search for a wave-waffle cutter, I chose the Borner, and am very pleased with it. Borner Wave-Waffle Cutter Powerline - straight from the manufacturer (green) There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing a waffle cutter 1.) WAFFLE CUT - The most important consideration, for me, was to find a tool that would truly produce a deep waffle cut. Not a wavy cut, but a truly deep cut that would emphasize the basket-weave look. A genuine, deep cut. This is the tool that will produce those deep cuts. 2.) PRICE - while this is not the most, nor the least expensive, at just over twenty dollars, it fit my budget. If it didn't work out for vegetables, perhaps it would end up in the craft room to serve some other purpose. While a heavy-duty stainless steel gadget would be impressive, this tool did the job beyond my expectations, at a fraction of the price. Also note, this cutter is available in other colors. The less popular colors are less expensive. I'll gladly save a few dollars, even at the risk of culinary vanity. Green is fine with me. *Note* Since posting this review, the prices have risen. 3.) QUALITY - When I first examined the cutter, I thought the plastic could be a bit thicker, especially on the bed of the tool that would hold the weight and pressure of a large potato. I worried that it might give to the weight, and cause the waffle fries to be uneven, but did not find that to be the case. I would advise careful hand washing, a return to the safety position, and storage in the original box. 4.) VERSATILITY - This particular cutter offers two different size cuts. The square-shaped piece of plastic in the middle of the handle is the center of the device that will be squeezed on each side, to adjust. The adjustment is a bit wonky, but should not be manhandled. A mere gentle squeeze, and a gliding action will set the blade higher, lower, or into a safety position. Though similar Borner cutters are out there, be sure to get the one that is adjustable, as they look very similar. 5.) SAFETY - Always a plus, though you should be aware, the safety holder is a separate purchase. Though you can operate the tool without it, you should use extreme caution, and do not glide the fruit / vegetable until it is a shard. A safety holder would allow you to cut much more of the fruit or vegetable. The tool comes with a link to an instructional and safety video, which I encourage you to watch. It is common sense more than anything. https://www.amazon.com/Borner-V-2008-Food-Safety-Holder/dp/B0000DYI9N/ref=pd_ys_c_rfy_289754_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0000DYI9N&pd_rd_r=CQ44W38SBGE8W8V451FN&pd_rd_w=ixopx&pd_rd_wg=jJ9zO&psc=1&refRID=ZJR5F9SHARN3CPT7QN3B Borner-V-2008-Food-Safety-Holder 6.) FUNCTION - Does it cut? Absolutely. As it should? Definitely. Simply glide the potato (or other vegetable) through the blade. Turn the potato 90 degrees, or in other words, 1/4 turn, and glide the potato back through the slicer. A waffle fry will drop beneath the tool. You may need to cut a few slices to get to the heart of the potato to see fabulous waffle slices. Save the ugly ones in cold water in the refrigerator to serve another purpose, and fry the best ones. There you have it. I was not paid for this review, these are my own opinions. Enjoy!
