This hatchet is realist looking and was a good accessory for a Daniel Boone costume I made my grandson's for Christmas. It is also not dangerous to play with.

Great for Halloween costume
So realistic, perfect for our son’s Halloween costume!! So many compliments. And he still totes it around playing with it. One of his favorite toys. He’s only a year old if that helps anyone with the size.

Great size, not truely realistic colors
Realistic in a simplistic way, but for the price its fantastic! I did a quick paintjob with mine because it didnt match my huntress/archer costume. The original base color for the handle worked out well with my darker color choice because it shows through here and there. The size fits on my belt perfectly and it doesnt weigh at all, not like regular sized wood axes or replicas.

Great addition to Fireman Costume
Bought this for a 4 year olds fireman costume as he loves to "cut down trees" and help "put out fires". I was pleasantly surprise at how well this has held up. We've now had it for 6 months, and it has withstood a great deal of abuse from our little man. He plays with it in the woods, around the house, and any other time he has an excuse to carry around an ax. The material appears to be a thick plastic and it's just as it appears in the picture. I would definitely recommend!
