G SHOCK Quartz Watch with Stainless-Steel Strap, Green, 27 (Model: GG1000-1A3)

This watch is badass! I went down the rabbit hole of G-Shocks, especially the Master of G Mudmaster line. I could easily afford the GWG-B1000 or GWG-2000, but here's why I chose the GG-1000 instead: - No altimeter or barometer needed. I'm not flying a plane, so I don't need to know my altitude or if a strong low-pressure system indicates an approaching storm. Compass and thermometer? Sure, I’ll take ‘em. Just so you know, the thermometer measures temperature at the case against your skin, so you're either gonna wonder why it's always 80+ degrees, or just be happy to see you're still alive. Take it off and set it somewhere for a half hour to see the real temp. - Cleaner design. Other Mudmasters put a giant light button at the bottom that looks like an exhaust port or some damn thing. The GG-1000 is still chonky but streamlined, if that's possible. - Don't get hung up on the strong solar function (or lack thereof). You change flat tires, know how to use jumper cables, and replace your furnace filters, right? Right? Learn to change your own watch batteries like a real man. - I don't want or need another bluetooth device talking to my phone. Wilderness or office, I'm likely relying on this watch alone. By the way, I'm totally rocking this in the office ALL THE TIME. Women love me, men want to be me. - If you like a military vibe - and who doesn't? - the 1A3 designation has more muted camo colors and makes me smile on the inside every time I look at it. Of course, on the outside I'm still a stone-faced warrior. - The function dial looks like a revolver cylinder. More badassery. - One light is plenty. It shines from beneath, like it's telling you a scary story in front of the campfire. - Less than half the cost of the high-end models, if that matters. Would I change anything? Okay, maybe add a step counter. But with the compass, I can map a zig-zag route to get more steps in, so still winning. Buy this watch, whatever the color scheme. Your cool factor will increase exponentially.

Owned for 5 years and still looks almost brand new! I’ve had to change the two batteries it holds twice. The first time I changed batteries is due to constant fidgeting and using compass. The second battery change has lasted far longer! The only downside to this watch is no tough solar or multi band 6 . I’d be devastated if I lost it because it’s one of my favourites for sure! I must’ve bought mine on sale because this price here seems almost double to what I paid.

This GG1000 is my 3rd G Shock & was $300 cheaper than the stores. Its a great watch. This watch died. September 2023. Batteries were replaced but function button froze. I tried to lubricate which worked ok for maybe 2 days but then the minute & hour hands stopped although second hand still worked. It's in the bin.
