Love these straws
These worked perfectly for what we needed. I loved that they were plastic free, but they had a beautiful bright pink appearance.. the cleaning accessories coming with it really helps these last. I love that they’re bendable and can make any shape, but they’re very thick and durable.

If you like straws, buy these. great straws. great straw cleaner
I love straws. And in particular I love these Softy straws, which I have been using for about 6 months now. When I first gave up plastic straws to save the planet and my health (BPA is not healthy), I tried stainless steel straws. But those got too hot when I drink hot beverages, and they posed a risk to my teeth because I often sip while walking. Having paid $200 to fix a chipped front tooth (no a straw didn’t do it), I had no wish to risk my teeth any longer with metal straws. Then I found these silicone straws and they succeed in every category. They are pleasant to use (leaving no funny taste — you just taste the beverage), and they can be re-used over and over and over (saving the planet). While they are soft (thus, protecting the teeth) and bend as needed, they are also stiff enough that they are easy to push through the hole in the lid of a travel cup. The colors turned out to be cute. And since tea and coffee do not stain the straws, the colors remain attractive and happy looking even after a lot of use. The special squeegee that comes with the straws works really well. Straw lovers know that it's hard to feel confident that the straws are really clean: but the squeegee makes the straws easy to clean. Straws are not easy to get confidently clean, but the squeegee makes the straws easy to clean and alleviates concerns about weird bacteria growing inside the straw. WAIT, there’s more. The customer service is amazing. I know because I contacted the company about acquiring a replacement squeegee when mine got lost. The company responded that day or the next day. And a couple days after that, my new squeegees arrived. Softy straws are so wonderful that I have ordered the other size for myself too plus a set for my sister. I think that covers it. Now it’s time for a beverage.

Great Little Straws
Great reusable straws! Nice and flexible. Perfect for use in standard glasses at home or they work perfect in the reduce 14oz and all of my 20oz tumblers. They’re foldable so you could take them with you in your purse if you wanted to. The cleaning wand is very easy and straight forward. I haven’t noticed any different taste to my drinks while using them and they’re just as easy to drink from as disposable straws. My kids and I use them without any problem. They also seem very durable. I chew on my straws and so far I haven’t noticed any damage from it. My kids also really like the bright colors

Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for in materials and cleanliness (with attentive customer service to boot!)!
I bought these in hopes of reducing waste. The parameters that I was looking for seemed simple enough, but only the Softy Straws fulfilled every single one of them:(1) FOOD GRADE NONTOXIC (BPA-free, BPS-free, phthalate-free, PVC-free, etc.). While we had originally looked at metal straws, the idea of a metallic taste, and worse, of the metal leaching, were both huge turnoffs.(2) SOFT SILICONE. These were to be used in place of disposable plastic straws, including both in the house and on the go. The last thing any of us (esp my kids) needed was a chipped tooth from a metal straw in a jostled car or from a tiny stumble while walking.(3) ASSURED CLEANING. We tried reusable silicone straws with a removable bend, but the connection was poor, causing more air consumption than liquid consumption. In moving to a more run-of-the-mill straight straw, we anticipated using a small brush used for cleaning baby bottle nipples. The included straw cleaning squeegee has eliminated the need for ANY brush, and is easily my favorite of their product design. The squeegee is a perfect fit, just tight enough for you to feel it scraping the sides of the straw as you run it through. With soap and water, the straws come out cleaner than any dish that is hand-washed with a kitchen sponge.(4) LASTLY, CUSTOMER SERVICE. Our package came short one straw. I was still within the return window for the Amazon order, so I wanted clarification on how to return the product for replacement while remaining clear that the product was not defective. I sent an email to the seller, Standard Modern Company, at 8:50pm at night, west coast time, with hopes of a response by noon the next day. Jake from the Standard Modern Company responded to my email 9 minutes later, cheerful as can be and eager to correct the problem. He and I exchanged emails in rapid fire thereafter, and I had new straws in hand a day and a half later. This is the simplest product, but it is often the apparently easy things that are hardest to execute well. I cannot find a single thing wrong with this product or their customer service -- not a single thing that I would want more -- and I know that we will be repeat customers as the straws go through their normal wear and tear.

Great idea, comfortable to use in toddler cups, and the silicone doesn't produce an odor
Updated Review:I'm adding a star because Standard Modern Company's customer service is FANTASTIC! I thought to contact the company and see if they could send me a replacement red straw, and they immediately shipped out a new set of straws. I'm pleased with the new straws and am grateful for the timely solution. I do like these straws and hope they continue to hold up well.Original Review:These were the best solution I could find for use in my daughter's stainless steel toddler cups. I had to cut a couple of inches off the bottom to fit the cup better, which wasn't a big deal at all. Also, they didn't smell of chemicals at all. We had been using the green. blue and purple straws for about a week now, and my daughter loves them. The main problem is that the silicone is very thin and kind of flimsy, so my daughter, who is not tough on things at all, applied too much pressure with her front teeth and put a hole through the silicone of the red straw within minutes this morning, which was the first time we've used the red straw. I had to tell her to be more careful with the other straws, that she can't apply pressure with her teeth at all or the straw will break and she'll have to go back to the dreaded stainless steel straws (she doesn't like the steel ones and prefers these silicone straws). Hopefully the other 4 will hold up better or I'll have to give up on this particular brand. Overall, I really like the idea of these straws, but I think they're over-priced for the quality.Quick edit: I just checked the red straw, and the area that produced a hole is, indeed, much thinner than the rest of the straw and the other colors as well. It feels like it was stretched or something to produce the end, so the rest of the straw is substantially thick while the area where my daughter puts her mouth is so thin it's almost translucent. I think this particular straw has a manufacturing defect.
