I got these for using with my Aeropress to replace the ceramic mug I was using before. Works really well for that purpose. The Aeropress fits perfectly over the top. With the old mug, I was using the plastic adaptor on top because the mug was too wide. I also had to preheat the mug a little to get a good temperature. Now I just press into the glass without needing to preheat anything. I'm still using water right off the boil directly into the Aeropress. The coffee in the glass actually ends up a little hotter than my old setup (slightly above ideal drinking temperature) but it does cool down and holds the ideal temperature longer. Now I can savour the coffee for longer. The glass does look nice, especially with coffee in it. Onto the nitpicking: The size given on the box says 220 ml while Amazon says 330 ml. For my recipe of 240ml to 15g it works great. It actually holds 320 ml when filled up to the very top. The rim of the glass is a little inconsistent, it's thicker on one side. But I know what side I prefer to drink from by looking at the logo on the bottom. It's very light weight, giving an impression of fragility. I wouldn't trust a machine to wash it. Doesn't really matter to me because I never dropped my old mug and always washed it by hand anyway. Probably the biggest issue if I had to pick one is that the rounded bottom makes it less stable so I have to be a little more careful while pressing. I'm still using the inverted method without any issue. Conclusion: If you're clumsy, don't want to hand wash it, or you want to use it for 330ml of coffee, I would not recommend it. Otherwise, it's great. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Zu meinem neuen Kaffeevollautomaten von DeLonghi habe ich mir je ein Satz Latte- und Cappuccinogläser gegönnt. Und ich muss sagen, dass meine ganze Familie die Gläser nicht mehr missen möchte. Die sehen auch wirklich stylisch aus, wenn sie mit einem leckeren Getränk gefüllt sind, das Auge trinkt ja bekanntlich mit. Meine Kinder lieben die Gläser ebenfalls und trinken gerne ihren warmen Kakao daraus, verfeinert mit Milchschaum aus dem Kaffeeautomaten. Aber zurück zu den Gläsern: durch den doppelwandigen Aufbau sind die Gläser von außen problemlos anzufassen und werden höchstens lauwarm. Zum Händewärmen sind sie also nur bedingt tauglich, dafür hält das Getränk darin die Temperatur wirklich gut. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Das Glas ist (natürlich) bruchgefährdet. Eines der baugleichen (nur etwas niedrigeren) Cappuccinogläser hat den ersten Abwasch durch mein Kind nicht überstanden. Vielleicht war es doch etwas zu rabiat beim Reinigen, ich möchte das nicht dem Material ankreiden. Kann passieren, immerhin ist der kleine Unfall ohne Verletzung abgegangen. Im Übrigen kommen die Gläser bei uns in die Spülmaschine und in die Mikrowelle, das müssen sie abkönnen. Bisher gab es hierbei auch noch keine Probleme. Ich verwende sie übrigens mit einem DeLonghi ESAM 5500 Automaten. Obwohl die Lattegläser nicht besonders hoch sind, passen sie so gerade unter den Ausguss der Maschine. Ich bereite den Latte so zu, dass ich zuerst warme Milch einfülle und danach mit der „Cappuccinofunktion“ Milchschaum und Kaffee zufülle. Dabei muss ich darauf achten, dass nicht zu viel Milch in das Glas läuft, weil es sonst hinterher überläuft. Ein klein wenig mehr Umfang hätte DeLonghi den Gläsern ruhig spendieren können, aber wenn man darauf achtet ist es kein Problem. Alles in Allem handelt es sich um durchaus teure, aber dafür auch sehr schöne Gläser. Für den Preis stelle ich mir jetzt allerdings auch nicht den Schrank voll, sondern habe nur wenige für den „besonderen Augenblick“ – sonst tun es auch die aus dem schwedischen Möbelhaus. Und jetzt ab in die Küche, einen leckeren Latte schlürfen.
