Winsor & Newton Galeria Brush Short Handle Round No 1 (Each) (1.5mm)

Best line of brushes I have used for miniature painting. Holds paint great, has lasted me much longer than other brushes and the bristles are in as good condition as when I took them out of the package (with help of some brush cleaner). Top of the line, the only brand I will be buying for fine detail work from here on out.

Winsor & Newton have regularly produced the most reliable artist's materials; but the GALERIA line of brushes perform so well you don't even have to think about them. Just DO it.

Very good and stay soft and straight for a long time. The hairs are really good after cleaning. Love the feel.

I was hoping to get at least a couple of painting sessions with this brush before the synthetic bristles became unusable, but the brush came split to hell and even after brush conditioner it still was a split p.o.s. First photo is of the brush right out of the box, second is after brush conditioner and a paint attempt. Simply awful. Wait til the series 7s come down to a non-extortionate price and save your time on these.

This review is for the Galeria size 0 brush. While my Winsor & Newton series 7 (MUCH better brushes) all have super sharp, pointy tips, this brush's tip isn't quite so sharp. The tip balloons out a bit more than others when paint is added. This brush is good for base coating small minis and doing the dirty work (washes, metallics) but the mediocre sharpness of the tip makes it hard to paint lines and tiny details. You'll need to use a different brush for that. Also, after washing the brush it is more difficult to reshape into a sharp point than other brushes. 4 stars.

The brush was thoughtfully packed and worked beautifully for 4 - 5 painting sessions. Afterwards, the bristles started to fan out despite proper care, rendering the brush ineffective towards its intended purpose of allowing me to paint fine details. Perhaps this was a one-time occurrence. I asked for a replacement and have been offered one without any hassle. I will update my review if the experience with a second brush is different.

Excellent brush. I am teaching elementary art age children and for me, this is the perfect size brush for them to use.

Llegó en perfecto estado. Me permite pintar bien los detalles de mis miniaturas. Es un tipo de pincel que recomiendo tener siempre para este tipo de hobby.

Ho altri 2 pennelli della serie galeria, questo tondo numero 6 non mi è piaciuto. Le setole sono di una morbidezza valutabile 3, 5 su scala di 5. Lo snap è buono, garantisce buoni dettagli, ritenzione colore ed acqua buona ma poca autonomia. Quello che non perdono nel mio modello è la mancanza di punta, un tondo senza punta non ha ragione di esistere. Non so se è fallato il mio modello ma ho anche tondi un escoda barroco ed escoda prado. Questi hanno davvero le punte e sono capaci di dettaglio fino, oltre che performare meglio in tutto rispetto al galeria tranne per il fatto che sono un pelo più morbidi. Vi consiglio di rivolgervi a questi ultimi per dei tondi in sintetico fatti come si deve.
