AC Infinity, Heavy-Duty Vented Cantilever 1U Rack Shelf 10.5"

The AC Infinity Vented Cantilever 2U Rack Shelf has exceeded my expectations for organizing and supporting my equipment. This shelf's heavy-duty construction made from 2.4mm cold-rolled steel gives me confidence in its ability to hold up to 100 lbs without any issues. I've used it to secure various components in my 19” equipment rack, and it's proven to be both sturdy and reliable. I particularly like the vented design, which helps keep my equipment cool by allowing better airflow. This feature is crucial for preventing overheating, especially when dealing with high-performance devices. Installing the shelf was straightforward, and it fits perfectly within the rack, providing a stable and secure platform for my gear. The only slight downside is that it adds a bit of weight to the rack, but this is a minor trade-off for the durability and load-bearing capacity it offers. For anyone needing a dependable and strong rack shelf, this AC Infinity model is a fantastic choice. Its robust build, easy installation, and efficient design make it an excellent addition to any setup. Highly recommended for those looking to optimize their equipment organization.

This 1 RU shelf was perfect for mounting three small NDI-to-SDI converters into a portable production rack where space was limited and I needed good airflow for the converters as well as the rest of the equipment. The shelf is solid, not flimsy at all, and the slots gave me flexibility in arranging and securing the devices. I originally used 1/4-20 bolts (had to drill into the shelf), but later switched to zip ties because the pan head bolts didn't allow enough clearance to the equipment below. I'm going to be building another portable production kit and this will likely be purchased again for it.

This was very easy to install. The rack is very sturdy and was exactly what I was looking for to hold 3 Sonos Amps (~15 pounds in total).

This rack shelf is definitely heavy duty, and it was one of the only shelves I could find with a lip that bends down from the shelf surface instead of up, which would've potentially blocked items. It initially appeared to have some sag when only a couple pounds of weight were applied (three 3.5-inch external HDDs), no matter how tight all four rack screws were tightened. I've since done my best to brute-force bend the shelf back to flat, because I think it was just shipped with a slight curve. Speaking of rack screws, this was supposed to include 10-32 and 12-24 screws. This appeared to be so, as there were two little baggies with 4 screws each. But when I went to install, using the 10-32 screws in a standard rack, only 3 screws fit. Turns out, one 12-24 got thrown in with the 10-32s. They didn't have to include free screws at all, so this isn't a big deal, but I did have to replace them all so they'd match. It also makes me wonder how much care goes into handling things at the factory. Even without the screws, however, this is a good price for a thick, ventilated rack that can be shipped quickly.

Using this to support a mini-PC in a small network cabinet. I installed a fan in the bottom of the mini-PC and needed a shelf that could draw air freely from underneath for cooling. It has been in place for a few weeks now and the mini-PC CPU temps have remained well within normal operating range. Overall, very happy with this choice. It is solidly built and the design supports solid ventilation from below.

I have a DIY server rack that doesn’t quite meet the 19-inch standard and my machines don’t have rack rails so I used angle aluminum for “poor man’s rack rails“, which ended up being about 16.2 inches apart at their smallest, with the posts of the rack being 17.5 to 17.55 inches apart. For most servers, this isn’t an issue (a Dell R310 is about 17.1 inches wide) but some thinner servers will slide too far to one side and fall down. Not ideal. I purchased this rack shelf in hopes that 1) it’d fit in my rack and 2) it would keep a particularly troublesome 16.75” wide Oracle server from falling on its side and denting my storage server. It did both! I was initially concerned that the 17.2” USABLE width (plus 4.8mm total for the side walls which isn’t usable) would make the shelf too wide for my rack, but with the side walls it ends up being about 17.45” wide, which fits near-perfectly. I can’t vouch for its weight capacity though, as the shelf is being supported by aluminum rails but it seems like it’d hold switches, routers, small desktops, and maybe even a lighter Dell server (R210, etc.) with ease. I will definitely be buying another one (or two!) in the future.

There are a couple things I'd highlight about this shelf. The biggest characteristic I want to highlight is that it has been carefully made to eliminate sharp edges and corners. It feels smooth and has a surprisingly nice finish to it. With a lot of rack gear you run the constant risk of cutting yourself, but this shelf is actually very nice. The material is heavy enough to support reasonable loads on a standard cabinet and because it is a cantilever half depth shelf, it only affixes to a single rack rail. The shelf also includes ample opportunity on the sides to affix cables with tie straps. I do not think the venting in the shelf itself would work well for tie straps, but there are nice long slots on the side that lend themselves well to aiding in cable management and for passing cables from the shelf in an organized fashion. The product is nicely packaged and includes rack screws and nuts, which work perfectly with square hole racks. I will be ordering an additional shelf for my humble home rack and comfortably recommend these to anyone.

Great shelf. Does what it is supposed to. Great weight rating and very sturdy. The included screws are a nice touch. Oh and the price is amazing!

Bought this to hold my Synology DS1812 NAS, full of 8 drives. Definitely less than the weight limit for this shelf, but the shelf still seems to lean downwards at the back where there's less bracing. Makes mounting an item below the shelf almost impossible (without the shelf leaning on the item, making the shelf pointless). Would not recommend for anything heavier than a few small devices (mac minis, routers, raspberry pis etc.).
