yes this is very good watch still my small sis wears it all the time for the last 2 years + & no issues and yes it is good enough to hear the chime tone

can you set the alarm a week later? Is the alarm loud enough to notice?

I think you can only set it daily. And i have slept thru the alarm before, but really depends on the person.
