Great paddle, but the yellow is not yellow
I ordered one 96-inch and one 84-inch paddle for us to use in our tandem kayak. Strangely, the 84-inch shipped normally (PS or USPS?), but the 96-inch came the following day and was delivered by a freight company that needed to call to arrange a delivery time.We are very happy with the paddles (although we have since determined that the 84-inch is too short and we are now replacing it with another 96-inch). The quality is good. They come apart and go back together easily. We like the foam grips.Note that the "yellow" paddle is actually orange. Not an orangish-yellow, but ORANGE. it is pretty, but it is not like the picture and I keep wondering how in the world anyone could call it yellow.

Great Kayak paddles for the price
I ordered these paddles to substitute for my Mitchell Carbon Fiber kayak paddles ($250). When anyone borrows my kayak, they will get to use the Shoreline Marine X-II paddles, and they might be getting a better deal. Don't get me wrong, I love my super light - high tech paddles, but I used the Shoreline paddles this weekend and they were great. The feather shape, is fantastic. The paddles really grab the water and propel the kayak gracefully down the lake. I will probably get another pair of Shorelines to have handy in the shed at the lakehouse to protect my wife's more expensive paddles.

The paddles are very nice looking and work well for the casual paddler
The paddles are very nice looking and work well for the casual paddler. Like most paddles at this price range they will not be cut to ensure a tight fit at the middle which means they will jiggle around a little bit while you are paddling.They are not exceptionally heavy and seem to be able to hold up to your standard "abuse" of lake paddling very well.

Serves me Well
This paddle has served me very well while paddling hard and using as an aid to push away from shore (albeit gently). I'm a big guy (265 lbs) and I paddle hard, and I haven't had any issues with worrying about the paddles bending or breaking. The drip guards are a bit loose, wish they wouldn't move so easily, but I'm going to fix that easily. Mine snaps into position and feels very solid.Overall it does exactly what it is supposed to do and without any problems.

orange= yellow = orange?
Great paddle for the price! Very sturdy. This is the lowest price for this paddle that I have seen online. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is that I ordered one orange paddle and one yellow paddle, and they are both orange! Why even give an option of orange or yellow if both are orange??

Decent quality for the price. Not the tightest fit for a 2-piece paddle...
Nice paddle, but the pin used to keep bot pieces attached together needed to come out and be bent so it would fit though the hole properly.The two pieces don't fit together as snug as I'd like, but for the price this is a decent paddle.

Nice for recreation
This paddle is a pleasure to use, and I may upgrade my rating after I use it more, as I've had it out only twice. It's a good weight for me, with good control. I don't think it will break or wear. It's easy to take apart and throw into the back of the car.

if you're looking for a good paddle that is the correct length
This changed my kayaking game... if you're looking for a good paddle that is the correct length... I'd recommend this one. I was using one that was too short and this made it so much easier to paddle.

best value you can find, but beware, it isn't the most robust
I purchased this paddle (available in 210, 220, 230, 240) for my little 8 year old daughter, who found that the three and a half pound value paddles, that were included with my inflatable kayak, were much too heavy for her. This is perfect.Pros:* neoprene hand grips* light weight (2 lbs exactly for the 84")* paddle shape is very nice! a nice pronounced curve at the end (tip) that will give a tiny extra kick at the end of your stroke when you turn it to pull it out of the water (good efficiency).Cons:* the joint could be more snug: the ferrule (the round button thingy that clips the oar halves together) is loose in the holes of the other paddle half - there is also some minor play between the two pipes (the one half going into the other could be more precise (more snug) - the (heavier) value paddles that came with my inflatable kayak fit together better than this).* blades seem fragile - use on lakes, definitely not in rapids or shallow area with rocksConclusion:At the $40 price point, I don't think you can find any better deal than this out there, as it has a fine efficient shape, but I don't understand why the exact same model sells for double in the longer lengths.For smaller and younger paddlers? a big YES, go for it!For larger and for stronger adults: proceed with caution! Think twice before you buy! Before having this in my hands, I wanted to get the longer version for myself, but now I'm looking at other models (I'm 6ft2, 200 lbs, and very strong). I'm just thankful that I hesitated before ordering one for me. But for smaller people, really, this is an awesome paddle at forty bucks. For double the price for a longer one... I'd definitely look elsewhere... get one made of nylon with fiberglass reinforcement, which can also be had at the same price as the longer version (ie: double).
